Fits Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 model 2015617 and replaces original BM46 battery.
Voltage is 3.8V at 3900mAh capacity — delivers full charge cycles for daily phone operation.
Connector aligns flat into the battery slot with no locking tab — seats flush against the phone's internal contact frame.
We bench-tested this cell on a Redmi Note 3 motherboard; the fuel gauge IC read voltage correctly on first insertion with no BMS handshake errors.
After installation, run one full discharge-to-charge cycle without fast charging enabled — this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM46)

This is a 3900mAh, 3.8V Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, including the 2015617, 2015611, and Dual SIM variants. It slots into the same bay as the original BM46 cell and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge circuit. Capacity is 3900mAh (14.82Wh), matching the original specification.

  • Redmi Note 3 variant coverage: The 2015617, 2015611, standard, and Dual SIM models all use the same BM46 footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One cell fits all four because the charge IC and fuel gauge IC are identical across the production run.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Redmi Note 3 charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepts the charge IC handshake on both standard and fast-charge protocols. The protection circuit trips correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes amperage into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Redmi Note 3 after a cell swap

A new cell has a different internal resistance profile than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. Under high-draw loads — modem handshake, screen at full brightness, GPS active — the cell voltage sags faster than the fuel gauge expects. The IC reads 25% but the actual terminal voltage drops below the protection threshold, and the BMS cuts power to prevent cell damage. One full discharge to near-zero followed by a slow charge cycle forces the fuel gauge to re-learn the actual capacity curve and clears the mismatch.

Phone stays dark after the replacement battery sat in storage before install

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect against cell reversal damage. The phone will not respond to the power button and may not show a charging indicator. Connect the phone to a low-current USB charger — 5V/500mA — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. Once the BMS registers voltage above the recovery threshold, the charge IC takes over and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Redmi Note 3 percentage is jumping around after I put in the new BM46 — it went from 60% straight to 35% while I was just browsing. What's causing that?

The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from your old, degraded cell. The new BM46 has a different capacity profile, so the coulomb counter is misreading state-of-charge. Run one full discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. After that single full cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell and the percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped in this battery — the Redmi Note 3 is only doing slow charge now even with the original fast charger. How do I fix it?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard charging until it completes one handshake negotiation with the new BMS. This is normal behaviour — it is not a fault with the charger or the battery. Charge the phone fully at standard speed, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. On the second charge cycle, the proprietary fast-charge protocol should re-engage and the phone will resume fast charging as expected.

The Redmi Note 3 feels warm near the back panel while charging with the new battery — is something wrong?

A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat during the first few charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell with tighter internal resistance, which produces more thermal output until the cell completes a couple of full cycles. If the warmth is mild and the phone charges to 100% normally, no action is needed — it settles after two or three full cycles. If the back becomes hot to the touch or charging stops before 100%, check that the USB cable is the original Xiaomi cable and that the charge port is clean and dry.
