Fits TCL One Touch Pop D5 smartphones; replaces OEM part numbers TLi018D1 and TLi018D2.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1600mAh — supplies steady voltage through calls, messaging, and app use.
Connector slides straight in; no locking tab or orientation tricks on this form factor.
We bench-tested the pack through five full cycles; BMS accepted normal charge current with no cutoff faults.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL One Touch Pop D5 / OT-5038 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi018D1)

This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion battery for the TCL One Touch Pop D5 and its OT-5038 variants (OT-5038A, OT-5038E, and six additional regional SKUs). It replaces OEM part numbers TLi018D1 and TLi018D2. The cell fits the standard rear-access battery bay and connects via the original contact strip.

  • OT-5038 variant coverage: The OT-5038A, OT-5038E, and other regional builds share the same 3.7V battery rail, connector pitch, and BMS handshake as the base D5 — one cell covers the full family without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on OT-5038 hardware and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell, balanced correctly at top-of-charge, and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff threshold without premature shutdown events.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installing this cell, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The D5's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle against the new cell lets it recalibrate the coulomb counter before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-5038 after a cell swap

The OT-5038's modem and display draw a combined current spike that causes voltage sag on a new, uncalibrated cell. The fuel gauge IC still shows 20–30% remaining because it hasn't yet mapped the new cell's actual discharge curve. When the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff — typically around 3.2–3.3V under load — the phone shuts down regardless of the percentage shown. One full discharge-charge cycle corrects the fuel gauge IC's reference data and eliminates the early shutdowns.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after replacement

The D5 uses a coulomb counter in its fuel gauge IC, which was calibrated against the original cell's internal resistance and capacity profile. A new cell has different impedance characteristics, so the counter's reference values are immediately out of sync. This shows up as percentage jumps, stalled readings at a fixed number, or the indicator skipping from 15% to 1% without warning. Drain the battery fully until the phone powers off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the IC resets its reference curve on that single cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCL OT-5038 shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the OT-5038 was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, and the new cell has different internal impedance — so when modem or screen load pulls current, voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold (around 3.2V) while the counter still reads 25%. Run one complete drain-to-zero cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the IC resets its reference. Shutdowns at that percentage should stop after that single cycle.

The battery percentage on my D5 is jumping around erratically — it went from 60% to 12% in two minutes. What's happening?

That's the coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC working off stale calibration data from your old cell. The new cell's capacity and impedance profile don't match the stored reference, so the IC's percentage estimates drift wildly under any real load. It is not a defect in the replacement cell. Discharge the phone fully until it powers off on its own, then charge straight to 100% without interruption — the counter rebuilds its curve on that cycle and readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my OT-5038 the day I swapped the battery — it was fine before. Why?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can reject the fast-charge handshake because the new cell's impedance reads outside the expected window for the protocol. This is a one-cycle issue — the controller falls back to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Charge the phone fully at standard rate, then discharge it once, and on the second charge cycle the IC re-evaluates the cell's impedance and typically re-enables fast charging automatically.
