  • Cud 9 EMD controller fit: The Cud 9 EMD uses a dedicated 12V Ni-MH cell to back up both the logic board and actuator drive circuit. The voltage rail and connector format match the original — no adapters or modifications needed at the battery bay.

Reduced door speed on backup power is normal behaviour for the Cud 9 EMD. The controller deliberately limits actuator speed during battery operation to reduce current draw and ensure the door can complete a full cycle rather than trip the undervoltage cutoff at full speed. If the door is slower than expected even on a freshly charged battery, check that the cell is reading at least 12V open-circuit before the next power-fail test.
