Running the C525P parent unit all night with the screen active is a sustained draw — the LCD backlight, IR video decoding, and speaker all pull current simultaneously. The 2100mAh cell can handle this, but screen timeout settings make a significant difference. Go into the monitor's display settings and set the screen to auto-off after 5 minutes of no interaction. The unit continues receiving audio and triggers the screen on sound detection, so you lose nothing by enabling timeout.

Night vision feed drops or goes dark after battery replacement

The C525P's IR LEDs on the camera unit are powered independently, but the parent unit's video decoder needs stable voltage to render the low-light feed cleanly. If the replacement battery isn't fully charged before first use, the parent unit may sit just above the BMS cutoff floor — enough to power on, but not enough for consistent IR stream decoding. Charge the parent unit to full before switching to night mode. A full charge brings the cell to 4.35V, which gives the decoder enough headroom to process the IR signal without dropout.
