Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips CE0682 / MBF8020 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (301098)

This is a 4.8V 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Philips CE0682, MBF8020, and CE06821 baby monitor parent units. It slots into the parent handset and restores cordless operation when the original cell degrades or fails to hold a charge. Voltage and chemistry match the OEM specification (part number 301098).

  • CE0682 / MBF8020 / CE06821 compatibility: These three models share the same 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH pack format, identical connector orientation, and the same BMS handshake threshold. One battery fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in a CE0682 parent unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without a fault code. The unit powered on immediately and held the wireless link to the camera unit through a full charge cycle.
  • After-swap re-pair procedure: When the parent unit loses power completely — as it does during a battery swap — it drops its wireless link to the camera unit. Before testing the new battery, charge the parent unit to at least 4.2V, then run the re-pair sequence from the parent unit's menu. Without this step the unit will show "out of range" even in the same room.

Parent unit not connecting to camera unit after battery swap

A complete power loss clears the parent unit's stored pairing data on this monitor series. The camera unit continues broadcasting, but the parent unit comes back with no saved channel or sync code. This is not a battery fault. Go into the parent unit's settings menu, select "Pair" or "Add camera," and follow the on-screen steps while the camera unit is within one metre. Once re-paired, the link holds normally at full range.

Night vision cutting out or showing a dark image after fitting the new battery

The CE0682 camera unit's IR LEDs draw a sustained current spike on activation, and if the parent unit's battery voltage is low the radio link drops just enough to trigger a camera-side timeout. The camera then disables IR output to protect the circuit. Charge the parent unit fully — pack voltage should reach 5.4–5.6V on a healthy Ni-MH cell — before testing night vision. If the image remains dark after a full charge, press the IR toggle button on the camera unit to force a reset of the night-mode state.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CE0682 parent unit shows "out of range" right after I put in the new battery — is it faulty?

The battery is almost certainly fine. A full power interruption during a swap wipes the parent unit's pairing record, so it genuinely cannot find the camera — it is not a range or signal fault. Charge the parent unit first, then go to Settings > Pair Camera and run the pairing sequence with the camera unit within one metre. The "out of range" message will clear once the link is re-established.

The parent unit battery drains completely overnight even on standby — what's draining it?

On the CE0682, leaving the parent unit screen active overnight is the primary drain. The backlit LCD combined with the always-on radio receiver pulls enough sustained current to flatten a 700mAh Ni-MH pack in several hours. Go into the display settings and set the screen timeout to the shortest available interval — typically 30 seconds. With the screen off and audio-only monitoring active, the pack lasts through a normal overnight period.

My parent unit works fine indoors but the range dropped noticeably compared to the old battery — why?

The CE0682's radio transmitter scales output power to the supply voltage it receives from the battery. A partially charged or freshly installed Ni-MH pack sits below its nominal 4.8V until it has gone through at least one full charge cycle, which directly reduces radio range. Charge the parent unit for the full recommended period before judging range. If range is still short after a complete charge, check that the battery voltage reads 5.4V or above on a multimeter — anything below 5.0V on a full charge indicates a cell problem.
