Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GRACO iMonitor 2795DIGI1 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BATT-2795)

This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the GRACO iMonitor parent unit. It fits the iMonitor, iMonitor Vibe, 2791DIGI1, 2795DIGI1, and several related models. When the original cell stops holding charge, the parent unit loses the ability to operate away from the dock.

  • iMonitor parent unit compatibility: These models share a three-cell Ni-MH pack at 3.6V with the same footprint and connector orientation. The BMS on the parent unit expects the correct internal resistance profile — a mismatched cell causes premature low-battery alerts even on a full charge.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the parent unit's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge without false-low flags. Cell voltage at full charge measured within the expected Ni-MH ceiling, and the unit powered the screen and radio module without voltage sag.
  • Wireless re-pair after replacement: The iMonitor parent unit loses its camera link when battery power drops to zero. After fitting this battery and charging, navigate to the camera search function in the parent unit menu and re-sync — the unit will not reconnect automatically after a full power loss.

Parent unit range reduced after battery swap

The iMonitor's radio transmitter pulls from the same 3.6V pack that powers the screen and mic. At low state of charge, the radio module drops output power first — the unit stays on, but signal drops and the camera feed stutters or cuts entirely. This is often mistaken for a faulty replacement battery. Charge the parent unit for a full cycle after fitting the new pack, then retest range before concluding there is a fault.

Night vision stops working after fitting a new battery

The IR LEDs in the camera unit are powered by the camera's own supply, but the parent unit's IR display rendering draws extra current from the pack. If the replacement battery is not fully charged before first use, the parent unit may disable IR mode to protect against undervoltage. Fit the battery, charge to full before switching the unit on, and IR mode should initialise correctly. If it does not, confirm the camera unit is still paired — a dropped wireless link will also prevent night vision from displaying on the parent screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iMonitor parent unit won't connect to the camera after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

A full power loss wipes the wireless pairing data stored in the parent unit's memory. The camera unit has not changed, but the parent unit needs to re-establish the link from scratch. Go into the parent unit menu, select camera search or add camera, and let it scan. The units will re-pair within a few seconds once the parent unit is on a full charge.

The battery drains completely overnight even with the new cell fitted — is the battery faulty?

Overnight drain on the iMonitor parent unit is almost always the screen staying active. The display and radio module together draw sustained current through the night — Ni-MH packs at 700mAh are sized for portable use, not all-night screen-on operation. Enable the screen timeout or auto-off function in the parent unit settings so only the audio circuit stays active overnight. If drain continues with the screen off, check whether the unit is in continuous video mode rather than VOX or sound-activated mode.

My iMonitor parent unit shows low battery almost immediately after charging — why?

New Ni-MH cells often read falsely low on the first one or two charge cycles because the battery management circuit has no calibrated reference point yet. Run the parent unit down to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to full — repeat this once more. After two full discharge-charge cycles the parent unit's charge indicator should read accurately. If the low-battery flag persists after conditioning, verify the charger dock contacts are clean and making firm contact with the parent unit terminals.
