Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

APS BCS1002 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 2600mAh (9.62Wh) lithium-ion cell fits the APS BCS1002 handheld barcode scanner. It restores full scan and wireless function in retail, warehousing, and inventory environments where the original pack has degraded or failed. Voltage and connector match the OEM spec directly.
- BCS1002 platform fit: The BCS1002 runs a single-cell 3.7V rail with a BMS that monitors cell voltage and controls discharge cutoff. This pack matches that rail, so the scanner firmware recognises the battery and enables all functions — scan trigger, wireless radio, and display — without a calibration flag.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through rapid scan bursts while the wireless radio remained active. The BMS held stable cutoff voltage and did not trip on the combined inrush from the imager firing and the radio polling simultaneously.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near its minimum voltage — a fully charged pack avoids false BMS trips on the first use of the day.
Cradle showing a charging error after fitting a new pack
Charging docks on the BCS1002 read pack voltage through spring contacts before enabling charge current. Oxidation or debris on the pack's contact pads raises resistance enough that the dock reads an out-of-range voltage and throws an error instead of charging. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the dock pins with a dry cloth, then firmly reseat the scanner. The charge indicator should switch to active within 30 seconds.
Scanner loses wireless connection mid-shift during rapid scan bursts
The BCS1002 fires the imager and polls its wireless radio in very close succession during fast scanning. When cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio module drops its transmission before the imager does — the scan appears to complete but the data never reaches the host. This is a voltage-sag issue, not a radio fault. If the scanner reconnects immediately after the burst slows, the cell is the cause; a fresh, fully charged pack holds voltage above the radio's minimum threshold throughout a normal scan cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BCS1002 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — scan trigger fires but nothing registers
The imager in the BCS1002 needs the cell above a minimum voltage before it delivers enough power to the laser or LED array to read a code. A newly installed pack may sit below that threshold if it shipped partially discharged. Place the scanner in the cradle, charge it fully, then test — the imager should read cleanly once cell voltage is above 3.6V.
The scanner runs fine for the first hour then gets warm and the scan range drops
Sustained scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the BCS1002's enclosed housing, and elevated cell temperature causes the BMS to reduce maximum discharge current as a protection measure — that's the range drop you're seeing. Let the scanner cool for five minutes with the cradle disconnected. If the range recovers fully after cooling, the battery and BMS are functioning correctly; if it doesn't recover, check that the cradle contacts are clean and seating the pack firmly.
The new battery drains faster than expected even though scan volume hasn't changed
Wireless polling interval and scan burst frequency both draw from the same cell, and either can increase without any change in the number of barcodes scanned — for example, if the scanner moved further from the access point, the radio boosts transmit power to compensate. Check the scanner's signal strength indicator; if it's showing one or two bars, moving the access point closer or adjusting channel settings will reduce radio draw and restore normal shift endurance.
