Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio DT-X30 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HA-G20BAT)
This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement for the Casio HA-G20BAT battery pack. It fits the DT-X30, DT-X30G, DT-X30GR-30C, and IT-9000 handheld barcode scanners — devices used heavily in warehouse pick-and-pack, retail stocktake, and logistics operations. Capacity is 2600mAh (19.24Wh), matching the original specification.
- DT-X30 and IT-9000 compatibility: These models share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pin-out, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack fits all four without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge, discharge, and scan-burst cycles on a DT-X30 unit. The BMS negotiated correctly with the scanner's charge controller, and cell voltage held steady across repeated laser trigger events.
- First-shift preparation: After installing the pack, seat it in the charging cradle for a full cycle before putting the scanner on the floor. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum charge. A fully charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first burst of rapid scanning.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Charging errors on a fresh pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a BMS fault. The DT-X30 cradle uses spring-loaded dock contacts that oxidise with repeated insertions. Oxidisation raises resistance enough that the cradle reports a fault before current even flows. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and check that all four contact pins are making full engagement.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The DT-X30 pulls current from two sources simultaneously during rapid scanning — the wireless radio polling the host and the laser or imager firing on each trigger pull. When a degraded or partially charged battery can't sustain both loads, voltage sags briefly and the radio stack drops its connection. This is not a Wi-Fi signal issue — it's a combined inrush problem. Charge the pack fully before use and check cell voltage under load; a healthy cell should hold above 6.8V during a burst cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The DT-X30 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I swapped the battery — did I get a dud pack?
Almost certainly not a dud. The laser or imager on the DT-X30 requires a minimum voltage threshold to fire at full power, and a new pack shipped in storage state may sit below that threshold. Seat the battery in the cradle and run a full charge cycle before triggering any scans. If the scanner still won't read after a full charge, check that the battery contacts are clean and making firm contact — a partial connection drops voltage under load before a scan even completes.
My DT-X30 runs noticeably shorter shifts than the original battery did, even with a new pack — what's happening?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both draw from the same cell, and the two loads compound each other during busy pick-and-pack shifts. If the scanner is configured for aggressive wireless polling — common in high-traffic warehouse networks — the radio alone can account for a significant share of draw before a single barcode is scanned. Check the device's wireless polling interval in the DT-X30 system settings and reduce it if the application allows. A confirmed full charge (cradle light goes green) before each shift rules out an incomplete charge as the cause.
The DT-X30 gets noticeably warm during a long scanning shift — is that a battery fault?
Warmth during extended shifts is normal on the DT-X30 because the scanner housing is compact and both the wireless radio and the scan engine generate heat continuously. The battery itself also warms under sustained discharge — this is expected Li-ion behaviour, not a cell fault. The pack becomes a concern if surface temperature feels hot to the touch rather than warm, or if the scanner shuts down unexpectedly. If shutdown occurs, check resting cell voltage immediately after — a healthy pack should read above 7.0V within a minute of powering off.
