Fits CipherLab 8001, 8300-L, and CPT8071 scanners; replaces OEM part 100845.
3.7V Li-ion at 750mAh delivers stable power for barcode reads and wireless transmission cycles.
Connector seats into the scanner battery slot with positive contact alignment; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in an 8001 unit; the BMS accepted the charge handshake on first dock cycle without fault codes.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CipherLab 8001 / 8300-L / CPT8071 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (100845)

This 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the CipherLab 8001, 8300-L, and CPT8071 handheld barcode scanners. These are mobile data collection devices used in warehouse, logistics, and retail pick-and-pack environments. OEM part numbers covered: 100845, BA-80S700, KB1B3770000L3, and 33-KB1B3770000L3.

  • 8001 / 8300-L / CPT8071 platform fit: All three models share the same 3.7V battery rail, physical form factor, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why a single cell covers them. The connector pinout and thermistor line are identical across the platform, so the pack seats and communicates without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge, idle, and active scan-trigger loads on the bench. The BMS held voltage within spec across the cycle and did not trip on the combined inrush from the laser and wireless radio firing together.
  • First-shift preparation for scan-heavy environments: After installing the new pack, place the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before pulling it into active picking. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum charge — a pre-charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first heavy burst of the shift.

Cradle showing a charging error after fitting a new pack

This error appears when the dock detects abnormal resistance at the charge contacts — not a fault with the cell itself. Dock contacts on high-use cradles accumulate oxidation and debris that spike contact resistance above what the charger expects from a new, low-impedance pack. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until the dock clicks. The charging indicator should switch to normal within a few seconds of a clean connection.

Scanner reads barcodes intermittently or not at all after a battery swap

If the scanner powers on but the laser or imager fires weakly or fails to trigger a read, the cell voltage is likely still below the minimum the decoder board needs to process a scan. At voltages below 3.4V the imager draws more current than the partially charged pack can sustain cleanly, causing brownouts at the decoder. Place the unit back in the cradle and charge to full before returning it to use. Once fully charged, a clean read on a standard 1D or 2D barcode confirms the decoder is receiving adequate voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CipherLab scanner keeps dropping the wireless connection mid-scan burst — is that a battery issue?

Yes, and it is a common one on these models. When the scan trigger and the wireless radio fire together, the combined inrush current can pull the cell voltage down sharply enough for the radio module to drop its connection. This happens more often when the pack is below 50% charge. Keep the battery above 40% during heavy scanning shifts to prevent the voltage sag that causes the radio dropout.

The cradle charges the scanner fine overnight but the battery dies well before the previous one did — what is happening?

Shallow cycling is the likely cause on a brand-new pack. Li-ion cells that are repeatedly topped up from 80–100% without ever running down to 30–40% take longer to reach full usable capacity in the first few cycles. Run the scanner through two or three fuller discharge-and-charge cycles — down to around 20% before cradle charging — and measure shift endurance again. Capacity should stabilise by the third cycle.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a long shift — is that normal for this battery size?

Some warmth is expected when a 750mAh cell sustains both continuous scan bursts and wireless polling inside a compact housing with limited airflow. It becomes a concern if the housing is hot to hold or if the BMS trips and shuts the unit down. If the scanner reaches that point, rotate it with a second unit mid-shift so each pack gets a cooldown period, and check that the scanner vents are not blocked by a holster or case insert.
