Fits LXE MX1 barcode scanner, replaces OEM part 153521-0004.
6V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery delivers sufficient power for full-shift scan and wireless operations in retail and warehouse environments.
Battery installs into the scanner's battery compartment with standard connector orientation and locking tab; no adapter required.
We bench tested this cell on an MX1 cradle dock — BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable under simulated scan trigger current spikes.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS cutoff on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LXE MX1 — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (153521-0004)

This is a 6V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the LXE MX1 handheld barcode scanner. It matches the OEM part number 153521-0004 and fits the MX1 used in retail, warehousing, and logistics environments. Voltage, capacity, and connector are matched to the original pack.

  • MX1 platform fit: The MX1 uses a 6V Ni-MH chemistry with a specific BMS handshake through the cradle charging circuit. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pinout so the scanner recognises the pack and begins the charge cycle without errors.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the MX1 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without flagging a fault. Scan trigger response and wireless polling drew current as expected across the full discharge curve.
  • Cradle charge before first shift: After installing this pack, place the MX1 in its charging cradle for a full cycle before pulling it into a pick-and-pack run. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The MX1 cradle reads pack contacts to verify chemistry and voltage before starting the charge cycle. If the contacts on the battery or cradle are dirty or oxidised, the dock sees high resistance and throws a charging error — even on a new pack. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears, the cell will begin charging normally within a few seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan burst, the MX1 draws current simultaneously from the laser or imager and the wireless radio. When a Ni-MH cell is partially discharged, this combined inrush can cause a brief voltage sag that drops the radio below its minimum operating threshold. The connection drops, resets, and can cause missed transmissions back to the WMS. Keep the cell above 50% charge during high-frequency scanning shifts to stay clear of the sag threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MX1 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the laser fires but scans fail. What's wrong?

The laser or imager needs a stable voltage above its minimum operating point to process and decode a barcode — it can fire at lower voltages but won't complete a successful read. This usually means the new pack was installed flat or near empty. Put the scanner in the cradle for a full charge cycle first, then test the read performance. If reads are still failing after a full charge, check that the replacement pack voltage at the terminals reads at least 5.8V under no load.

My MX1 scanner gets noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery issue?

On the MX1, sustained combined draw from the wireless radio and scan trigger generates heat inside the compact housing with limited airflow. A Ni-MH cell also produces more heat than lithium chemistry during high-rate discharge, which adds to the housing temperature. This is normal operating behaviour during heavy shifts, but if the scanner feels hot enough to be uncomfortable, check that ventilation slots on the housing aren't blocked and rotate to a charged spare so neither pack stays in continuous heavy use for more than a single shift.

The MX1 isn't lasting as long as the old battery did even though it's new — what shortens shift endurance?

Shift endurance on the MX1 depends on how often the scan trigger fires and how aggressively the wireless radio polls the network. High scan burst frequency combined with a dense wireless environment will drain a 2000mAh Ni-MH pack faster than light intermittent use. Ni-MH cells also need several charge-discharge cycles to reach full capacity — the first two or three shifts will show shorter endurance than the pack's rated 2000mAh. Run three full cradle charge cycles before judging real-world capacity.
