Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

M3 Mobile Orange / OX10 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (OX10-BATT-S33)
This is a 3.7V, 3300mAh Li-ion replacement for the M3 Mobile Orange and OX10 series handheld barcode scanners, including the OX10 RFID variant. It matches the OEM part number OX10-BATT-S33 and fits the same battery bay without modification. Capacity is 3300mAh (12.21Wh) — drawn from the product specification, not estimated.
- Orange, OX10, and OX10 RFID compatibility: All three models share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell covers the full range — the RFID variant adds antenna draw but runs on the same voltage rail.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an OX10-class unit. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to overcurrent and over-discharge thresholds.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and complete one full charge cycle before sending it to the floor. The scan trigger draws the highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first burst-scan sequence of the shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Charging docks on the OX10 series are sensitive to contact resistance between the battery terminals and the cradle pins. A new pack with any film, oxidation, or residue on the gold contacts can trigger a dock fault before charging even starts. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until you hear the click. The dock should clear the error and show the charging indicator within 10 seconds.
Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The OX10 combines simultaneous radio polling and scan-trigger inrush — both draw from the same cell at the same moment during a burst scan. If cell voltage sags below the radio module's minimum threshold during that combined load, the wireless stack resets while the scanner stays on, which looks like a dropped connection rather than a power fault. This is most common on a partially depleted cell mid-shift. Check cell voltage under load — if it drops below 3.4V during a scan burst, the cell needs replacement or the pack needs a full recharge before continuing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My OX10 scanner stops reading barcodes right after I swap in the new battery — is the battery dead?
The battery is not dead — the laser or imager module requires a minimum voltage that a freshly installed, partially discharged cell may not sustain on the first trigger pull. Place the scanner in the cradle and complete a full charge cycle before use. We confirmed on the bench that a fully charged OX10-BATT-S33 cell brings the imager up immediately with no read failures. After the first full charge, the scanner should read on the first trigger press.
The new battery feels warm after an extended warehouse shift — is that normal?
Moderate warmth is expected. The OX10 housing is compact, and sustained scan-plus-wireless draw across a full shift generates heat with nowhere to dissipate quickly. What is not normal is heat you cannot hold your hand against, or warmth that persists more than 10 minutes after the scanner goes idle. If the pack stays hot at rest, check that the cradle contacts are clean and the BMS is not forcing a trickle-charge loop — reseat the battery and confirm the dock shows a normal charge state rather than a fault indicator.
This replacement battery seems to run out faster than my old OEM pack did — what's happening?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both contribute to capacity draw, and a new cell may behave differently from a conditioned OEM pack in the first few cycles. Run two to three full charge-and-discharge cycles — charge to 100% in the cradle, use through a normal shift, recharge fully. Li-ion cells reach rated capacity after a break-in period, not on the first cycle. If endurance is still noticeably short after three cycles, measure resting voltage after a full charge — it should read 4.18–4.20V; anything below 4.10V points to a dock contact or charging fault rather than the cell itself.
