Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BlueBird Pidion BIP-6000 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NX5-2004)
This 3.7V 6400mAh Li-ion battery fits the BlueBird Pidion BIP-6000 handheld mobile computer — a rugged barcode scanner used in retail, logistics, and warehouse pick-and-pack operations. It matches the original cell format, connector, and BMS communication protocol. Capacity is rated at 23.68Wh using product-verified data.
- BIP-6000 platform fit: The BIP-6000 uses a single-cell 3.7V pack with a multi-pin connector that carries BMS data to the device's power management IC. This replacement carries the same pin-out and BMS handshake, so the scanner's battery indicator reads correctly without calibration errors.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated scan bursts combined with Wi-Fi polling loads. The BMS held charge thresholds stable across both the laser trigger inrush and continuous wireless draw without tripping low-voltage cutoff prematurely.
- First-shift preparation for the BIP-6000: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using it on the floor. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and starting the first shift on a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during high-frequency scanning in the first hour.
Cradle charging error on the BIP-6000 after fitting a new pack
The BIP-6000 cradle communicates with the battery over the multi-pin dock contacts. If those contacts have oxidation or residue from the old pack, the dock reads an open circuit and flags a charging fault — even though the new cell is fine. The cradle's charge controller expects a handshake voltage above a set threshold on the data pin before it begins the charge cycle. A failed handshake at the dock level does not mean the battery is faulty.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During fast barcode scanning, the radio and the scan trigger fire simultaneously, creating a combined inrush load on the cell. If the cell voltage sags below approximately 3.2V under this combined draw, the radio module drops its connection before the BMS trips. This is not a wireless fault — it is a voltage-sag event caused by a degraded or deeply discharged cell. Charge the pack to 4.1–4.2V before the shift and the sag headroom is sufficient to sustain both loads together.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BIP-6000 cradle is showing a charging error with the new battery — what's causing it?
The cradle uses the multi-pin contacts to handshake with the battery's BMS before starting the charge cycle. If the contacts on the new pack or the cradle dock have any residue or oxidation, the handshake voltage drops below the controller's threshold and it flags an error. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then firmly reseat the scanner. The charging indicator should clear within 30 seconds of a clean connection.
The BIP-6000 keeps dropping its Wi-Fi connection mid-shift after I fitted the new battery — is this a scanner fault?
This is a cell voltage-sag issue, not a wireless fault. When the scan trigger and radio fire at the same time, the combined inrush pulls the cell voltage down sharply — and if the pack is not fully charged, that sag crosses the radio module's minimum operating voltage before the BMS trips. Start each shift with the pack charged to at least 4.1V, and the sag headroom is enough to hold the radio connection through rapid scan bursts.
The scanner feels noticeably warm after a full warehouse shift — is that a problem with the battery?
Sustained scanning combined with continuous Wi-Fi polling generates steady discharge current inside the BIP-6000's enclosed housing, and some surface warmth is expected. The concern is if the housing is hot to the touch or the BMS is cutting power mid-task — that points to a cell under higher-than-normal thermal stress. Check that the scanner's ventilation slots are not blocked by label debris or dust, and allow the device to cool in its cradle between shifts rather than swapping directly back into active use.
