Fits Psion 7525, 7525C, 7527 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part numbers 1050494, 1050494-002, WA3006, WA3020, WA3025.
Voltage is 3.7V with 2000mAh capacity; this lithium-ion cell delivers 7.4Wh for full-shift scan and wireless operations.
Connector mates flush into the battery slot on the rear housing; polarity pins align when inserted fully until the locking tab clicks secure.
We ran load cycles on a 7525 unit under continuous scan and radio transmission; the BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes or charge delays.
Place the scanner in its cradle for a complete charge cycle before field use; the scan trigger draws peak inrush current when cells near minimum voltage and can trigger early BMS cutoff on a depleted pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Psion 7525 / 7527 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WA3006)

This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery for the Psion 7525, 7525C, and 7527 handheld barcode scanners. It fits the same bay and connector as the original WA3006, WA3020, and WA3025 packs. If your terminal is shutting down mid-shift or the cradle is flagging a low-charge warning, this is the direct swap.

  • 7525 / 7525C / 7527 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery bay dimensions, and BMS handshake protocol — so one pack covers the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Psion charging cradle and verified BMS communication, charge acceptance, and scan-trigger inrush handling across multiple charge and discharge cycles.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum, and a depleted new pack can cause false BMS trips on the first burst of scanning.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Psion cradles read battery state through the dock contacts before initiating a charge cycle. If those contacts have oxidation or debris, the cradle registers a handshake failure and throws a charging error — even with a new pack installed. This is not a battery fault. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle bay with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and check that the charge indicator activates within 10 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The 7525 draws from the same cell for both the wireless radio and the scan trigger. During rapid barcode scanning, the combined inrush from the imager firing and the radio polling can pull the cell voltage below the BMS threshold momentarily — dropping the wireless link. This typically happens when the battery is below 20% charge. The fix is straightforward: keep the pack above 30% during intensive scanning runs and avoid letting it discharge fully on the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Psion 7525 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

A new pack straight out of the packaging often sits at a partial state of charge, and the imager on the 7525 needs enough voltage to fire consistently. If the laser or imager is underpowered, it either fails to read or reads intermittently. Seat the scanner in the cradle, charge it fully, then test — the read rate should return to normal once the cell is above 3.5V.

The scanner runs noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem?

Sustained heat during extended shifts is a combination of continuous wireless polling and repeated scan trigger firing inside the enclosed housing of the 7525 — not a fault condition on its own. However, if the battery casing feels hot to the touch rather than just warm, check that the battery contacts are seated flush and not arcing. A loose pack creates resistance at the contacts, which generates heat. Re-seat the battery and confirm the latch clicks before returning the unit to service.

The replacement pack seems to drain faster than expected on high-scan-frequency shifts — what's happening?

The 7525 pulls from one cell for both the radio and the imager, so high-frequency scanning combined with active wireless connectivity drains the pack faster than low-activity tasks. This is not a defective battery — it is load-dependent draw. To extend usable charge across a full shift, reduce the wireless polling interval in the terminal settings if your WMS allows it, or rotate a second charged pack at the halfway point rather than running to cutoff.
