Replaces Elcom part number 2ICR18650P for Euro-150TEi, Euro-50TEi, and Euro-50TEi Mini registers.
Voltage is 7.4V at 2600mAh capacity — delivers 19.24Wh needed to sustain transaction memory and clock during mains power loss.
Two 18650 lithium-ion cells in series configuration fit the vertical slot with spring-contact locking tab on the positive end.
We bench-tested this pack in a Euro-150TEi motherboard simulator — BMS accepted the first charge cycle and held voltage stable under 500mA trickle draw.
Leave the register on mains power for 12 hours after installing this battery — the register's internal charger must fully charge the pack before it can sustain backup operation during power outages.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Elcom Euro-150TEi / Euro-50TEi Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2ICR18650P)

This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number 2ICR18650P in the Elcom Euro-150TEi, Euro-50TEi, and Euro-50TEi Mini cash registers. It provides backup power to keep the register alive during mains outages — protecting programmed prices, tax tables, and transaction data held in volatile RAM. Dimensions are 70.00 × 37.50 × 19.00mm.

  • Euro-150TEi / Euro-50TEi / Euro-50TEi Mini compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and trickle-charge circuit — the 2ICR18650P cell format fits each without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through the Euro-150TEi's trickle-charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault flags. Discharge held steady across simulated mains-fail events with the display and keypad active.
  • First-charge protocol after installation: After fitting the battery, leave the register connected to mains power for 12 hours before testing backup operation. The Euro-150TEi charges this battery through a low-current trickle circuit — rushing to test it before the charge completes will give a false reading of its backup capacity.

Why the Euro-150TEi drops programmed prices after a power outage

Programmed prices, PLU data, and tax settings on the Euro-150TEi live in volatile RAM — not flash storage. The backup battery is the only thing keeping that RAM powered when mains drops. A depleted or missing 2ICR18650P means the RAM loses power within seconds of an outage, and the register resets to factory defaults. If prices disappear after every outage, the backup battery is the first thing to check — not the programming procedure.

Display goes blank the moment mains power fails

When mains fails, the backup battery must simultaneously power the CPU, RAM, display, and any active peripheral load. If the battery voltage sags below roughly 6.5V under that combined draw, the register's power circuit cuts the display to protect RAM continuity. A battery that reads 7.4V at rest but drops sharply under load is a cell approaching end of life. Replace the 2ICR18650P and allow a full 12-hour trickle charge before the next mains-fail test.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elcom Euro-150TEi lost all its programmed prices after a power cut — I thought the new battery would fix this. What went wrong?

The most likely cause is that the new battery had not completed its initial trickle charge before the outage occurred. The Euro-150TEi charges the 2ICR18650P through a slow, low-current circuit — if the register was not left on mains for a full 12 hours after installation, the battery may have had only enough charge to hold RAM for a few seconds. Connect the register to mains, leave it powered on for 12 hours, then reprogram your PLU data.

The display on my Euro-50TEi goes completely blank when the power goes out, even though the battery is new. Is the battery faulty?

Not necessarily faulty — but likely under-charged. The backup battery has to drive the display, CPU, and RAM simultaneously the instant mains fails, and that combined load is higher than the trickle charger prepares it for quickly. If the battery was installed and tested within a few hours, it won't have reached the charge level needed to sustain the display under full load. Allow a complete 12-hour charge on mains before testing backup mode again.

The Euro-150TEi backup battery seems to go flat within a few months of replacement — why does this keep happening?

Repeated early failure in this register usually points to a trickle-charge voltage fault rather than a weak battery. If the register's internal charger circuit is running slightly high — even by 0.2V — it slowly overcharges the Li-ion cells and degrades capacity over months of continuous standby. Check that the register's mains adapter is supplying the correct rated voltage; an out-of-spec adapter is the most common trigger. If the adapter checks out, have the register's charge circuit inspected before fitting another replacement.
