Fits Aastra JB950 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM battery pack for JB950 models.
3.6V 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage under talk load and extended standby hold.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery bay; locking tab seats flush against housing lip.
Bench test showed clean voltage rise to 3.6V on first charge cycle; BMS acceptance immediate.
After installing, place handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aastra JB950 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V 600mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original rechargeable cell in the Aastra JB950 cordless phone handset. It restores talk time and standby operation when the factory battery no longer holds charge. Dimensions are 42.45 × 29.77 × 14.37mm — verify fit against your existing cell before installing.

  • JB950 handset compatibility: The JB950 runs a 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack. The base station's charging circuit is calibrated for Ni-MH chemistry — it uses a trickle-charge termination that won't work correctly with Li-ion cells of the same voltage, so chemistry match matters here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the NiMH charge profile without error flags, and voltage held stable across the RF transmit bursts the DECT radio produces during active calls.
  • First charge on the JB950: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before making calls. Ni-MH cells shipped at partial charge need a slow, complete first cycle to reach rated capacity — skipping this shortens the usable capacity you get from the replacement.

Base station showing no charge light after swapping the battery

Ni-MH cells lose voltage during storage — if this pack sat in a warehouse, it may arrive below the threshold the JB950 base station needs to recognise a valid battery and begin charging. The base looks for a minimum voltage before it switches the charging circuit on. If the charge indicator stays off, place the handset in the base and wait up to 30 minutes — the trickle stage will slowly bring the cell up to the acceptance threshold. If the light comes on after that window, the cycle is working normally.

Talk time shorter than expected after replacement

Ni-MH cells don't hit rated capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not a faulty battery. Rated capacity is typically reached after three to five full charge and discharge cycles. Run the handset until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. By cycle four or five, talk time should reach the level the 600mAh rating reflects.

Frequently Asked Questions

My JB950 handset lost its DECT pairing after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully lost. The fix is to re-register the handset to the base — on most Aastra DECT systems, you hold the base's paging or registration button until it enters pairing mode, then navigate to the handset's menu and select register. Check your JB950 manual for the exact key sequence, but the process takes under two minutes.

The JB950 battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This usually means the handset isn't making solid contact with the base charging pins. Check that the handset is fully seated and that the charge contacts on both the handset and base are clean — oxidation on the pins blocks the connection. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth or a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol, then reseat the handset. If the charge indicator lights up after cleaning, standby drain overnight will stop.

The JB950 range dropped noticeably after the battery swap — the call breaks up further from the base than it used to. Why?

DECT transmit power depends on the battery voltage staying above a threshold during the RF burst. When a fresh Ni-MH cell hasn't completed its first conditioning cycles, voltage sags more than usual under the load the radio draws — this compresses effective range. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles first. Once the cell reaches rated capacity, voltage sag under RF load reduces and range returns to normal.
