Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Audioline DECT 1000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (60AAAH3BMU)
This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Audioline DECT 1000 cordless phone handset. It replaces OEM part 60AAAH3BMU and restores charge capacity to the handset when the original cell no longer holds sufficient charge. Physical dimensions are 45.01 × 31.22 × 10.05mm — confirm fit against your existing pack before installing.
- DECT 1000 handset fit: The DECT 1000 handset uses a single AAA-format three-cell Ni-MH pack at 3.6V. The base station's charging circuit is tuned to this voltage and cell chemistry — swapping to a different voltage or chemistry will prevent the base from charging correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH test rig. The BMS accepted charge from a standard DECT base station charger without error, and voltage held stable at 3.6V nominal through the discharge curve.
- First charge after installation: After fitting, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. Ni-MH cells in DECT handsets arrive partially discharged from storage — a slow first charge lets all three cells balance and reach rated capacity.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
Ni-MH cells do not reach full rated capacity on the first charge cycle. The DECT 1000 base station charges at a low trickle current, so the pack needs three to five full charge-and-use cycles before capacity stabilises at the rated 700mAh. During this period, talk time will be noticeably shorter than expected — this is normal cell conditioning, not a fault. Run the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, then return it to the base for a full charge each time.
Base station shows no charge or flashes an error light after swap
When a Ni-MH pack sits in storage, its resting voltage can drop below the threshold the DECT 1000 base station uses to detect a valid battery. The base interprets this as a fault and refuses to begin a charge cycle. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — the charging contacts need full contact to read voltage correctly. If the error persists, the pack voltage may be too low for the base to accept; try a brief charge from a standalone Ni-MH charger first to bring the pack above 3.0V, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Audioline DECT 1000 handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?
Some DECT phones drop their pairing record when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens the moment you pull the old battery. The handset and base need to re-register with each other. On the DECT 1000, press and hold the registration button on the base unit until the base indicator flashes, then follow the pairing sequence from the handset menu. Check your user manual for the exact key sequence — the process takes under two minutes once you locate the base registration button.
The DECT 1000 handset drains flat overnight even when it's sitting in the base — why?
This is a contact issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully seated in the base cradle, the charging pins do not make a clean connection and the handset runs entirely on battery in standby. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle and that the charging contacts on both the handset and base are clean — oxidised contacts are a common cause on older units. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light on the base is active.
The DECT 1000 has noticeably shorter range after fitting the new battery — what's causing it?
Range drops when the battery voltage sags under the RF transmit load. During calls, the DECT radio draws a short burst of current each time it transmits — if the battery voltage dips too low under that load, the handset reduces transmit power to protect itself. This is most common in the first few charge cycles while the Ni-MH cells are still conditioning. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles and the pack's internal resistance will fall, reducing voltage sag. If range is still poor after five cycles, check that the battery resting voltage measures at or above 3.6V with a multimeter.
