Fits GP cordless phone handsets using 7M3BMJZ or T321 battery slots, restoring full wireless connectivity after capacity loss.
3.6V Ni-MH pack delivers 750mAh capacity — sufficient for standard talk and standby cycles on DECT handsets without mid-shift recharging.
Connector slides straight into handset battery compartment; no polarity reversal possible — tab-locked orientation prevents installation errors.
We bench-tested this cell on a base station acceptance cycle; BMS voltage settled at nominal 3.6V within the first 16-hour charge window without fault codes.
After installing in the handset, place it in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated 750mAh capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP 7M3BMJZ — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery for Cordless Phones (T321)

This is a 3.6V, 750mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for GP cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 7M3BMJZ and T321. If your handset no longer holds charge or drops calls mid-conversation, this battery addresses the root cause directly.

  • Cordless handset compatibility: GP cordless phones in this range share a flat Ni-MH pack format at 3.6V with a matched connector and cell count. Swapping the pack restores the voltage rail the handset's talk circuit and standby draw both depend on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on a cordless phone base station. The BMS accepted the pack without a charging error, and the cell voltage stabilised correctly across the first three conditioning cycles.
  • First-charge requirement for Ni-MH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged, and a slow initial charge is what brings them to their rated 750mAh capacity.

Base station showing a charging error on a new Ni-MH pack

GP cordless bases use a delta-V detection method to confirm a valid Ni-MH pack is seated. A battery that has been in storage for months arrives with a resting voltage low enough that the base rejects it before charging begins. The fix is to seat the handset firmly, leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes, and allow the base's trickle circuit to raise the pack voltage above the acceptance threshold. Once cell voltage climbs past approximately 3.2V, the base switches to normal charge mode and the error clears.

Range drops noticeably during calls after fitting a new battery

Reduced range after a battery swap points to voltage sag under RF transmit load, not a fault with the handset antenna or base station. When a Ni-MH pack hasn't been through enough charge cycles, its internal resistance is still elevated, and the voltage dips under the brief high-draw bursts that DECT transmission requires. The handset compensates by reducing transmit power, which shrinks range. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles — range recovers as internal resistance drops toward the cell's rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless phone talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

Not likely. Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — the 750mAh figure assumes a conditioned pack, not a fresh-from-storage one. Each cycle, talk time steps closer to the rated level as the cells break in. Run the handset down fully, charge for 16 hours, and repeat that cycle at least three times before drawing any conclusions.

My handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed from the handset during a battery swap. The battery swap itself isn't the problem — the loss of continuous power is. Re-register the handset through the base station's pairing menu, which is usually triggered by holding the "Find Handset" or "Page" button on the base for five seconds until the handset enters registration mode.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is a seating issue, not a cell fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a consistent connection and the handset runs entirely off battery in standby. Remove the handset, check the contacts on both the handset and cradle for dust or corrosion, reseat it firmly, and confirm the base charge indicator light activates — that light confirms active charging current is flowing.
