Fits the Binatone iDect X2i, iDect X2i Single, and iDect X2i Twin; replaces OEM part MT LP053040.
This 3.7V 500mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the voltage and capacity the handset needs for standard talk and standby cycles.
The battery slides into the handset compartment with a flat connector that seats flush against the contact strip inside.
We tested the pack on a Binatone base station charger; the BMS accepted the charge cycle without error codes or cutoff faults.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge cycle before first use — this lithium-polymer pack reaches rated output after the initial slow charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Binatone iDect X2i Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MT LP053040)

This 3.7V 500mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the MT LP053040 battery in the Binatone iDect X2i, iDect X2i Single, and iDect X2i Twin cordless handsets. It matches the original cell's dimensions (41.90 × 29.24 × 5.07mm), voltage, and connector. Fit this when the handset no longer holds a useful charge or stops powering on entirely.

  • iDect X2i handset family: The Single and Twin variants use the same slim Li-Polymer cell on the same 3.7V rail with the same connector orientation. One part number covers all three — no wiring modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the X2i handset. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted a full charge without overtemperature events.
  • First charge after installation: Li-Polymer cells in DECT handsets ship at storage charge, not full capacity. Seat the handset in the base immediately after fitting and leave it for a full charge cycle before making calls — this lets the cell reach its rated 500mAh capacity from the outset.

Why the iDect X2i loses range when the battery ages

DECT transmit power depends on stable voltage from the cell. As a Li-Polymer cell ages, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under the RF transmit load — even if the handset idles fine on the base. The radio drops power to compensate, which shortens effective range before the battery reads as low. Fitting a fresh cell with lower internal resistance restores the voltage headroom the transmitter needs.

Handset not pairing with base after battery replacement

Removing the old battery cuts all power to the handset, and some iDect DECT handsets lose their base pairing when power is fully interrupted. The fix is a manual re-registration: hold the handset's paging or registration button, then trigger registration from the base station menu. Consult the base station label — the default PIN is usually 0000. Once paired, the handset reconnects and operates normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iDect X2i talk time is still short after fitting the new battery — what's wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Li-Polymer cells in low-draw devices like DECT handsets sometimes take two or three full charge and discharge cycles before reaching rated capacity. Leave the handset off the base until the low-battery alert sounds, then charge it fully — repeat this two more times. After the third cycle, check whether talk time has improved.

The base station shows no charge light after I fitted the new battery — why won't it charge?

Li-Polymer cells ship at reduced storage voltage, and some iDect base stations will not start a charge cycle if the incoming cell voltage is below their acceptance threshold. Place the handset firmly in the base and leave it for 30 minutes — many chargers will begin a trickle charge once the cell voltage climbs above roughly 3.0V. If the indicator still does not activate, reseat the handset to ensure the contacts are fully engaged.

The iDect X2i battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what causes that?

This points to a seating problem, not a faulty cell. If the handset contacts are not fully pressed against the base cradle contacts, the charger never tops up the battery and standby draw drains it by morning. Clean the gold charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then press the handset firmly into the cradle until it clicks into position.
