Fits iDect X2, X2d, X2i, X2di cordless phone handsets and replaces OEM part MT LP053040.
3.7V lithium-polymer cell with 500mAh capacity delivers full talk and standby time on this handset platform.
Connector slides vertically into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; polarity marked inside the handset.
We bench tested the BMS on a DECT base simulator — voltage held steady under RF transmit load with no early cutoff.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use to allow the BMS firmware to calibrate capacity reporting.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

iDect X2 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MT LP053040)

This is a 3.7V, 500mAh lithium-polymer cell replacing the MT LP053040 in iDect X2 series cordless handsets. It fits the X2, X2d, X2i, and X2di. The cell restores power to the handset so it can register with the base station and carry calls normally.

  • X2 series handset compatibility: The X2, X2d, X2i, and X2di all run the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell at this footprint — 41.90 × 29.24 × 5.07mm. The connector pinout and BMS handshake are identical across the range, so one cell covers all four variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a DECT handset rig. The BMS held the charge rail stable throughout standby draw and peaked cleanly during the RF transmit bursts the DECT protocol fires every 10ms.
  • First charge on the iDect base station: Seat the handset in the base immediately after fitting the new cell. Leave it there undisturbed for a full 16 hours before the first call. The iDect base charges at a low trickle current — pulling the handset out early cuts the initialisation cycle short and reduces usable capacity from the first use.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting this cell

Li-Polymer cells in DECT handsets sometimes deliver below rated capacity for the first two or three full cycles. The BMS calibrates its charge endpoint against actual cell behaviour — not factory defaults. Run three full charge-and-discharge cycles through the iDect base before judging capacity. By cycle three, the BMS will have mapped the cell correctly and talk time will stabilise at the rated level.

Handset fails to re-pair with the base after battery replacement

Removing the old cell cuts all power to the handset, which clears the DECT registration stored in RAM on some iDect models. The handset comes back up with no base link and sits idle. On the X2 series, press and hold the Paging button on the base for three seconds, then use the handset menu to run a fresh registration. The base will confirm pairing with a short tone once the handset is accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iDect X2 handset shows a full charge but the call drops after a few seconds — why?

A Li-Polymer cell that has been deeply discharged during storage can read as charged at the surface while the actual usable capacity is near zero — the BMS accepted the charge voltage but the cell didn't cycle properly. Seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16-hour charge without interruption. After that, make a short test call and let the handset discharge naturally before charging again. Two full cycles usually brings the cell to stable operating capacity.

The base station charge light stays red and never switches to green after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?

The iDect base expects to see a cell voltage above a minimum acceptance threshold before it will enter normal charge mode. A new cell shipped in deep storage can sit below that threshold, so the base stays in fault state. Place the handset in the base anyway and leave it for 30 minutes — the trickle pre-charge circuit will nudge the cell voltage up. Once it crosses roughly 3.0V, the base will switch to standard charge mode and the light will change.

The handset loses range and starts crackling at the far end of the house — but it was fine before the battery swap. What changed?

DECT transmit power is tied directly to the voltage the cell can deliver under RF load. When cell voltage sags during the 10ms transmit bursts, the handset drops output power and the signal weakens at range. This usually means the new cell hasn't completed its first full charge cycle and can't sustain the load yet. Run the full 16-hour initial charge, then test range again — a fully charged cell at 3.7V nominal will hold the transmit rail stable through normal use.
