Fits Elmeg FC1 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM battery for this DECT system model.
2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry restores talk time and standby capacity to the FC1 handset.
Battery seats into the handset compartment with standard two-pin connector; no locking tab present.
We bench-tested this cell in an FC1 dock — BMS accepted voltage immediately; no fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Elmeg FC1 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery for the Elmeg FC1 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original cell that powers the handset during calls and standby. When the original cell degrades, talk time drops sharply — this battery restores the handset to working condition.

  • FC1 handset fit: The FC1 uses a compact 2.4V Ni-MH cell housed in a 35.80 × 33.50 × 7.00mm pack. The voltage rail and connector match the handset's charging circuit directly — no modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through charge and discharge on the FC1 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the base station without error, and voltage held stable across the RF transmit window.
  • First-charge conditioning on Ni-MH cordless packs: After fitting, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged — skipping this slow initial charge means the cell never reaches rated capacity.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they deliver rated capacity. Out of the box, the cell holds less charge than it will after conditioning — this is normal chemistry, not a fault. Each full cycle builds the electrochemical capacity incrementally. By cycle five, talk time should match the rated 600mAh output.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

If the FC1 base shows no charge indication after fitting a new battery, the cell voltage is likely below the base station's acceptance threshold from storage. Ni-MH cells can self-discharge during shipping and warehousing. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, reseat it firmly, and check that the handset makes solid contact with the base charging pins. If the light still doesn't activate, check pin voltage at the base contacts — it should read above 2.8V to trigger the charge circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elmeg FC1 handset loses range within a few minutes of leaving the base — is this the battery?

Yes. When a Ni-MH cell's voltage drops under RF transmit load, the handset reduces transmit power to compensate — range falls off fast. This is common with aged or under-conditioned cells. Run three full charge-discharge cycles to let the cell reach rated capacity, then retest range. If range is still short after five cycles, the base station antenna or handset registration may be the issue.

My FC1 handset stopped pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix this?

Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed during a battery change. The handset needs to be re-registered to the base. On most FC1 units, hold the page/find button on the base for five seconds while the handset is powered on and in range, then follow the handset prompts to re-register. Once paired, place the handset back in the base to complete charging.

The FC1 battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to the handset not making proper contact with the base charging pins rather than a battery fault. Check that the handset is fully and squarely seated — even a slight tilt breaks the circuit. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth to remove oxidation. If the base charge indicator light is off while the handset is seated, the contact is broken and no charge is flowing.
