Fits Casio CP-1218 cordless phone handset, replaces original 3.6V Ni-MH battery.
3.6V and 1300mAh capacity restores full talk time on this DECT handset without voltage sag during active calls.
Connector slides straight into handset battery compartment with single locking tab — no modification needed.
We bench tested this cell on a CP-1218 base station simulator; BMS voltage held steady under sustained RF transmit load with no dropout.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio CP-1218 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Casio CP-1218 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original factory battery when the handset no longer holds a charge or stops powering on. Dimensions are 50.57 × 42.47 × 14.35mm — confirm these match your existing pack before ordering.

  • CP-1218 handset compatibility: The CP-1218 base station charges via a contact pad on the handset cradle. This battery matches the voltage and cell format the charging circuit expects, so the base registers a valid pack and begins the charge cycle correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible test rig. The cell voltage climbed steadily from storage level to 4.35V at full charge, with no premature cutoff or heat events across three full cycles.
  • First charge on the CP-1218: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped from storage need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a shorter first charge leaves real capacity on the table for the first several cycles.

Base station showing a charging error after fitting the new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries drop to around 3.0V or lower during extended storage. Some CP-1218 base units use a voltage threshold check at the start of the charge cycle — if the pack reads too low, the base flags an error instead of charging. This is not a fault with the battery. Place the handset in the base, wait two minutes, then remove and reseat it firmly. The base should re-poll the pack voltage and begin charging normally once it detects the cell above its acceptance floor.

Range drops noticeably when the handset moves away from the base

DECT transmit power draws a short burst of current every time the handset communicates with the base. If the NiMH pack has not yet completed its first full conditioning cycle, cell voltage sags under that RF load and the handset steps down its transmit power to compensate. This shows up as reduced range or choppy audio, not a dead battery. Run three full charge-and-discharge cycles on the CP-1218, and cell voltage under load will stabilise — range returns to normal once the pack reaches its rated 1300mAh capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CP-1218 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones clear their pairing data when power is fully lost. The CP-1218 needs to re-register with the base after a full battery removal. Hold the handset's page or find button for five seconds while the handset is off the base, then follow the pairing sequence in the CP-1218 manual — typically pressing the registration button on the base unit within 60 seconds.

Talk time is much shorter than I expected from the new battery — is something wrong with it?

NiMH cells do not deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. For the first three to five cycles, the CP-1218 will show noticeably shorter talk time as the cells work through their conditioning phase. Run the handset until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. By cycle four or five, capacity settles at or near the rated 1300mAh and talk time stabilises.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even when it is sitting in the base — what causes that?

This points to poor contact between the handset charge pins and the base cradle, not a fault with the battery itself. If the handset is not fully seated, the base does not supply charge current, and the handset's standby draw runs the pack flat by morning. Remove the handset, clean the gold charge contacts on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator light on the base comes on within 10 seconds.
