Fits Panasonic S60528 cordless phone handset to replace original 3.6V battery pack.
3.6V at 1200mAh delivers the voltage and capacity Panasonic DECT base stations accept for charging — no compatibility issues.
Connector slides straight into handset battery compartment with single locking tab — physical fit confirmed on S60528 housing.
We bench-tested this NiMH pack against a discharged OEM cell — BMS accepts full charge from standard DECT base chargers without error codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SBC S60528 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Panasonic S60528 cordless phone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to a unit that no longer holds charge. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original SBC pack exactly.

  • S60528 handset fitment: The S60528 handset runs a single Ni-MH cell stack at 3.6V. The physical footprint — 54.46 x 32.07 x 11.22mm — matches the original battery bay, so the contacts align without forcing the compartment cover.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform at 3.6V. The cell voltage climbed steadily through the first three cycles before settling at rated capacity — normal Ni-MH behaviour on shallow-cycle phone loads.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base station immediately after fitting this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial discharge state need that slow first charge to condition the pack and reach 1200mAh rated capacity.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries self-discharge during storage and can arrive at a voltage low enough that the base station charger circuit does not recognise a valid battery. Most DECT base stations use a threshold detection circuit — if the incoming cell voltage sits below roughly 3.0V, the charger stalls and the charge indicator never activates. Leave the handset seated in the base undisturbed for 30 to 60 minutes. The trickle current from the base is usually enough to push the pack above the acceptance threshold, at which point the normal charge cycle begins.

Talk time shorter than expected for the first few uses

A new Ni-MH cell does not deliver full rated capacity on its first cycle. The crystalline structure inside each cell needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before capacity reaches the rated 1200mAh. If the handset feels like it is running low too quickly in the first week, that is the pack conditioning — not a fault. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator appears, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat; talk time will increase noticeably by cycle four or five.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Panasonic S60528 handset is draining completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts do not make a clean connection and the handset runs on battery instead of charging. Remove the handset, wipe the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat firmly until you hear or feel it click, and check that the charge indicator activates. If the light comes on and the handset holds charge overnight, the battery is fine.

The S60528 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix that?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset. The battery swap cuts power long enough to clear the stored base registration. You need to re-register the handset manually: on most Panasonic DECT systems, hold the handset's paging or find button for five seconds, then press the registration button on the base station within 90 seconds. Check your base station label for the default PIN — it is usually 0000.

The range on my S60528 seems shorter after fitting this battery — calls cut out further from the base than they used to.

Reduced range after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF load. The DECT transmitter draws a burst of current each time it sends a signal; if the battery voltage drops during that burst, the handset reduces transmit power to compensate. This is common in the first few cycles before the Ni-MH pack is fully conditioned. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and retest range — once the pack reaches rated capacity at 1200mAh, the voltage holds steadier under the RF load and range returns to normal.
