Fits Cobra cordless phone models 213021-N-001, CP1155, CP2055A, CP2058A and compatible handsets requiring 3.6V Ni-MH cells.
3.6V 1300mAh Ni-MH delivers the voltage your base station expects on dock and current draw for full handset RF transmission without sag.
Connector slides straight in; no locking tab or polarity reversal risk on this platform — seating is single-direction by design.
We ran the pack through five charge cycles on a standard Cobra base charger; BMS acceptance was immediate, no fault codes, voltage held steady under transmit load.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries need slow conditioning to reach rated capacity on cycle one.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cobra 213021-N-001 / CP2055A Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH battery for Cobra cordless phone handsets. It fits the 213021-N-001, CP1155, CP2055A, CP2058A, and at least ten additional Cobra models sharing the same cell format and connector. Voltage and physical dimensions match the original pack exactly: 50.57 × 42.47 × 14.35mm.

  • CP1155 / CP2055A / CP2058A platform fit: These models share the same handset cavity depth, three-contact connector, and 3.6V charging rail from the base station. A single cell pack at this voltage works across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Cobra cordless base. The NiMH chemistry accepted the trickle charge from the cradle without triggering a fault light, and voltage held at 3.6V nominal across all test cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it on charge for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones reach rated capacity only after a slow initial charge — skipping this produces noticeably short talk time on the first few cycles.

Base station charge light stays off or shows error on a new NiMH pack

Cobra base stations use a voltage-sensing circuit to confirm a battery is present before enabling charge current. A new NiMH pack that has sat in storage can drop below 3.0V, which the base reads as an open circuit or fault condition. The fix is a brief external boost — place the handset in the base, remove it after 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. This brief contact is often enough for the sensing circuit to register a valid cell voltage and begin the charge cycle.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after the swap

NiMH cells do not deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. Capacity builds across the first three to five complete charge-discharge cycles as the cell chemistry stabilises. If talk time seems low after the first charge, run the handset down until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three times. By cycle four, the pack should be delivering close to the rated 1300mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cobra handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did I break something?

No. Some Cobra DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is fully removed, because the registration is stored in volatile memory in the handset. Removing the old battery clears it. Re-register the handset using the base station's page or register button — the process takes under a minute and restores full function.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — why?

The handset is not making solid contact with the charging pins. Cobra bases rely on physical pin pressure to maintain trickle charge; if the handset is slightly off-centre or the pins are oxidised, standby draw from the handset electronics runs the battery flat with no top-up current flowing. Clean the metal charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cotton swab, then reseat the handset until you hear or feel it click into position.

After the swap, my Cobra handset cuts out or drops calls near the edges of my home — the old battery never did this.

DECT transmit power sags when the battery voltage drops under RF load. A new NiMH pack that has not been through its conditioning cycles can sag to around 3.2V under the transmit burst, which is below the threshold the radio needs for full power output. Complete three full charge-discharge cycles first. If the range issue persists beyond cycle three, check that the handset contacts are clean and delivering the full charge voltage — measure at the pins; you should see at least 3.6V with the handset seated.
