This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH battery pack built to the BT-15 specification. It fits GE cordless phone handsets including the 2-9445, 2-6936GE2, 5-9519, and 10-0935. The cell size and connector match the original factory pack exactly.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A new BT-15 pack will underperform for the first few uses — this is normal cell chemistry, not a fault. Each cycle lets the electrolyte distribute evenly across the electrode surface. By cycle five, capacity should stabilise at or near the rated 1300mAh.

GE base stations sample the battery voltage when the handset is first seated. If the pack has self-discharged below roughly 3.0V during storage, the base may reject it as faulty rather than attempt a charge. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and re-seat it firmly. If the error persists, check that the handset contacts are clean and making full contact — a thin layer of oxidation on either contact rail is enough to break the charge circuit at low voltage.

Press the battery firmly until it lies flat, then re-seat the handset and check that the charging indicator light appears within 30 seconds of docking.
The GE handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?
Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, which clears the DECT pairing register on some GE models. To re-pair, place the handset on the base, then press and hold the FIND HANDSET or PAGE button on the base unit for five seconds until the handset beeps and shows a registration prompt.
