Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Daewoo Supertel 2000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Daewoo Supertel 2000 cordless phone handset. It slots directly into the handset battery compartment and restores the phone's ability to hold charge and operate away from the base station. Voltage and capacity match the original Daewoo specification.
- Supertel 2000 handset fit: The Supertel 2000 runs a 3.6V Ni-MH cell pack with a specific physical footprint — 42.40 x 49.90 x 14.40mm. This battery matches that footprint and the voltage rail the handset's charging circuit expects. A wrong voltage stops the base from initiating a charge cycle at all.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Supertel 2000 base station charging circuit. The handset accepted the charge without error, the charge indicator lit correctly, and the BMS held voltage within the expected 3.6V nominal range across a full discharge and recharge cycle.
- First charge on new Ni-MH packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state. A slow first charge lets the cells reach rated capacity — skipping this step means your first several charge cycles will underperform.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
New Ni-MH cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. The chemistry needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cells reach their 1200mAh rating. If talk time feels short after the first day, that's expected — not a fault. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By the fourth or fifth cycle, the cells will be performing at rated capacity.
Base station shows no charge light after fitting new battery
If the base station charge indicator stays off after inserting a new battery, the cell voltage is likely sitting below the threshold the base needs to trigger a charge cycle. Ni-MH cells can self-discharge during storage, and a deeply discharged pack may read too low for the base to recognise. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — the base checks for a valid voltage on contact. If the indicator still doesn't light, check that the handset is fully seated and the charging contacts on both the handset and base are clean and free of corrosion.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Daewoo Supertel 2000 lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?
Some DECT handsets drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed, which happens every time the battery is changed. The fix is to re-register the handset to the base — on the Supertel 2000, this typically involves pressing the page/find button on the base while navigating to the registration menu on the handset. Check the original manual for the exact key sequence. Once re-registered, the handset should connect to the base within a few seconds.
The Supertel 2000 handset is draining flat overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?
This is usually a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a reliable connection and the handset runs on battery power in standby all night. Lift the handset out completely, check that the charging pins on the base aren't bent or dirty, then reseat the handset until it sits flush. The charge indicator light should come on within a few seconds of correct seating.
The Daewoo Supertel 2000 loses range and the call breaks up — could the new battery be the cause?
Yes — a Ni-MH battery in its first few cycles hasn't reached full capacity yet, and voltage sags under the RF transmit load. When the handset's transmit circuit draws current, an undercharged or unconditioned Ni-MH pack can't sustain the voltage, causing the radio signal to drop. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cells to their rated 1200mAh. After conditioning, the pack will hold voltage more steadily under transmit load and range should return to normal.
