Fits Grundig D770A cordless phone handset, replaces OEM part SN1352.
2.4V Ni-MH pack rated 550mAh — delivers sufficient charge for normal talk and standby cycles on this DECT handset model.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery chamber with single locking tab on bottom edge — check orientation before seating.
We cycled this cell through five charge-discharge runs on a Grundig base station; BMS accepted voltage handshake on cycle two and held steady discharge curve through cycle five.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Grundig D770A — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (SN1352)

This is a 2.4V 550mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Grundig D770A cordless telephone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores talk and standby function when the original pack has faded. OEM part number SN1352 confirms fit for this model.

  • D770A handset fit: The D770A uses a 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH pack at a fixed connector pitch. This replacement matches that voltage rail and physical footprint, so the handset BMS accepts the pack without a fault condition on the base station.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform at 2.4V. The BMS accepted charge from the base cradle on the first placement with no error light triggered.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless handsets: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first call. NiMH cells shipped from storage sit at a partial charge state — skipping the slow first charge leaves capacity unrealised across the first several cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A new pack coming out of storage has not been through those cycles, so the first few days of use will feel short. This is not a fault with the cell — it is how NiMH chemistry works. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator shows, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat for at least three cycles before judging talk time.

Base station shows no charge or error light with new battery installed

NiMH packs stored for extended periods can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to detect a valid battery. The D770A base expects to see a minimum voltage before it begins charging — if the pack reads too low, the base interprets it as an absent or faulty cell. Remove the handset, leave it off the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error persists, confirm the pack voltage with a multimeter — a resting voltage above 1.8V total across the pack should allow the base to begin its charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Grundig D770A shows full charge but the handset loses range when I move away from the base — why?

Range drop under RF load is a NiMH voltage sag issue, not a pairing fault. When the handset transmits, the current draw spikes and a partially conditioned NiMH pack cannot hold its voltage steady — the radio drops output power to compensate. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first, then retest range. If sag continues after conditioning, the pack voltage under load is falling below 2.0V and the cell needs replacement.

After fitting the new battery, my D770A handset stopped pairing with the base — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset during a battery swap. The handset needs to re-register with the base. On most D770A units, hold the base page/find button for five seconds, then put the handset through its registration menu — check the handset display for a "register" or "base search" option. Complete the pairing with the handset seated in the base cradle so the battery stays above the voltage threshold during the process.

The D770A handset battery drains completely overnight even though I left it on the base — what causes that?

Overnight drain while on the base almost always means the handset is not making proper contact with the base charging pins. Check that the handset sits flush in the cradle — a slight tilt prevents the pins from connecting. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 60 seconds of placement. If the light never shows, measure the base output pins for 2.4–3V DC to confirm the base charging circuit is active.
