Fits Maestro JB950 cordless phone handset, replaces OEM battery 3.6V Ni-MH pack.
3.6V at 600mAh capacity restores full talk time and standby duration to original spec.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery slot with positive terminal facing the contact plate.
We ran a full charge cycle on a JB950 base station — BMS accepted voltage without error codes.
Place handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cells need slow conditioning to reach rated capacity on this platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Maestro JB950 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Maestro JB950 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original pack when the handset stops holding a charge or cuts out during calls. Dimensions are 42.45 x 29.77 x 14.37mm — confirm these against the battery compartment before ordering.

  • JB950 handset compatibility: The JB950 runs a 3.6V NiMH cell in a fixed-geometry compartment. This pack matches that voltage rail and physical footprint. No connector modification needed — the terminal layout is a direct match for the handset's contact plate.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on NiMH-compatible test equipment. The BMS held stable at 3.6V nominal, with no voltage collapse during simulated RF transmit load.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state — the slow first charge lets each cell reach rated capacity. Skipping this step is the most common reason a new pack underperforms the original.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If a pack sits in a warehouse for several months, its resting voltage can drop below the threshold the base station uses to detect a valid battery. The charger circuit sees a voltage too low to accept and either does nothing or trips an error indicator. To recover the pack, place the handset in the base anyway and leave it for up to 30 minutes — most base stations will begin a trickle charge once the pack climbs above approximately 3.0V.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells do not ship at full capacity — they need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before reaching their rated 600mAh. If the handset feels like it runs out faster than the old battery did at its best, that is normal behaviour for the first week of use. Run the handset down until it drops the call, then return it to the base for a full charge. Repeat this cycle three times and talk time will reach its rated level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My JB950 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix that?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The base and handset need to re-register with each other. On most Maestro DECT handsets, press and hold the page or find button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. Once re-registered, the handset will connect to the base as normal.

The handset is fully draining overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

A new NiMH pack draining overnight usually means the handset is not making solid contact with the base charging terminals, not a faulty cell. Check that the handset is fully seated — the charge indicator light should illuminate within a few seconds of placing it in the cradle. Clean the contact pins on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth if the light does not appear. If contact is confirmed and the drain continues after three full conditioning cycles, the handset's standby draw may be higher than normal and worth checking against Maestro support documentation.

The JB950 range dropped noticeably after I put in the new battery — calls cut out further from the base than they used to.

Range drop after a battery swap points to voltage sag under RF transmit load, not a pairing or antenna issue. NiMH cells that have not completed their conditioning cycles deliver lower sustained voltage during the transmit burst, which causes the radio module to reduce output power. Run three full discharge-and-charge cycles — use the handset until it drops the call, then charge fully in the base for 16 hours. After the third cycle, resting voltage should hold above 3.6V under load and range will return to normal.
