Fits MBO Alpha 1400CT handsets replacing the original 3.6V cordless phone battery pack.
3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH delivers rated talk time on this DECT platform — voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.
Connector slides straight into the handset compartment with a quarter-turn locking tab that seats flush against the housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a DECT simulator — BMS accepted the charge profile without error codes and held voltage under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MBO Alpha 1400CT — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the MBO Alpha 1400CT cordless handset. It restores power to the handset so it can operate wirelessly from the base station. Dimensions are 52.99 x 44.48 x 15.15mm — confirm these match your existing battery before ordering.

  • Alpha 1400CT handset fit: The Alpha 1400CT uses a 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration. This pack matches that cell count and voltage rail, so the handset's charge circuit sees the correct input without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset test rig. The BMS accepted charge from a standard base station cradle without triggering a fault state on any of our test runs.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless batteries: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped from storage are not at full capacity — skipping this slow initial charge will leave you with noticeably shorter talk sessions for the first several cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells do not deliver rated capacity straight out of storage. The electrochemical pathways in a fresh pack need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cells reach their 1200mAh ceiling. If talk time feels short after day one, that is normal — not a fault with the battery. Run the handset until it prompts a recharge, then return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat this three to five times.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting new battery

A Ni-MH pack stored for several months can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. When resting voltage falls too low, the base treats it as a fault rather than starting a charge cycle. To recover the pack, place the handset in the base for at least 30 minutes — many base units will attempt a trickle charge first. If the indicator still shows an error after 30 minutes, remove the handset and reseat it firmly, then check that the contacts on both the handset and cradle are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alpha 1400CT handset is losing range after I put in the new battery — the old one reached further. What's causing this?

Range drop under a new Ni-MH pack usually means the cells are not yet conditioned. When resting voltage is low, the handset's RF transmit circuit gets less power under load, and the signal weakens. This resolves as the pack conditions over three to five full cycles. Run the handset to low charge, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — range should recover to normal by cycle four or five.

The Alpha 1400CT lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — now it won't connect at all.

Some DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed. Fitting a new battery constitutes a full power interruption, so the handset loses its subscription to the base. To re-pair, locate the registration button on the base station — usually labelled FIND, PAGE, or REG — press and hold it, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. Check your Alpha 1400CT manual for the exact key sequence if the handset menu does not prompt automatically.

The Alpha 1400CT battery drains overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base. Is this a fault?

This points to the handset not making a solid connection with the base cradle contacts, rather than a battery fault. If the contacts are not fully engaged, the base cannot trickle-charge the pack, and the handset's standby draw slowly depletes it. Remove the handset, wipe both the handset charge contacts and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator light activates. If the light does not come on, check that nothing is blocking the handset from sitting flush in the cradle.
