Fits Nomad 27910 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM battery for models 27910, 8058480000, 8900990000, E1112 and compatible DECT units.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity after conditioning cycles; voltage sustains handset transmit power during calls.
Connector slides into handset battery compartment with polarity marked; locking tab secures pack flush against contact pins.
We bench-tested this cell in a 27910 base cradle; BMS accepted charge without fault codes and voltage held steady under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nomad 27910 / E1112 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for Nomad cordless phone handsets including the 27910, 8058480000, 8900990000, and E1112 series. It replaces the original rechargeable pack that sits inside the handset. Capacity is 2.52Wh — matched to the product data, not the web.

  • 27910 and E1112 handset fit: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH pack with the same footprint and connector orientation. The base station charges at a low constant current matched to this chemistry — a Li-ion pack would not accept that charge curve and would sit flat.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the base station charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the trickle charge without flagging an error state. Voltage at full charge measured at the handset contacts aligned with NiMH expectations for this cell count.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones arrive partially discharged from storage — the slow first charge is what brings them to rated capacity. Skipping this step is the most common reason buyers report short talk time.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries that have been in storage for months can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to detect a valid pack. When the resting voltage is too low, the base reads it as a fault rather than a discharged cell. The fix is to briefly trigger a charge using a compatible external NiMH charger at a low rate — even 10 minutes at 100mA is usually enough to bring the pack above the acceptance threshold. Once the base sees a voltage above roughly 3.0V at the contacts, the charge indicator should switch on normally.

Range drops noticeably after installing a replacement battery

Reduced range after a battery swap usually comes down to voltage sag under RF transmit load. The DECT radio in the handset draws a short burst of current each time it transmits — if the battery cannot hold voltage during that burst, transmit power drops and range suffers. This is most pronounced in the first few charge cycles before the NiMH cells have been conditioned. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles through normal use, and range should return to what the original battery delivered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than I expected — is the battery faulty?

Most likely not. NiMH cells in cordless phones need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. If you pulled the handset off the base and used it immediately after install, the first cycle will always be short. Put the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge, use it until it needs charging, and repeat that cycle four more times — talk time should increase with each one.

My Nomad handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when the handset loses power completely during a battery swap. The phone's registration memory is held by a small capacitor or the battery itself, and removing it for more than a few seconds clears it. Check the handset manual for the registration procedure — it usually involves holding a button on both the base and handset simultaneously. Once re-registered, the handset should link to the base within 30 seconds.

The handset battery drains overnight even though the phone is sitting in the base — what causes that?

Overnight drain in the base almost always means the handset is not making clean contact with the charging pins. Check that the battery is fully seated in the handset compartment — a slightly proud cell can lift the handset off the base contacts by a fraction of a millimetre. Clean the base charging pins and the contacts on the handset with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset firmly. If the charge indicator light comes on solid after that, the contact issue was the cause.
