Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sanyo 23621 / CL-410 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery pack for Panasonic cordless DECT phones, including the 23621, CL-410, 3N-600AA(mtm), and GES-PCF02 among others. It replaces a dead or degraded handset battery that no longer holds a charge. Slot it into the handset battery compartment and return the phone to service.

  • Compatible handset models: These models share the same 3.6V three-cell NiMH pack format, connector pin-out, and physical footprint. The base station charges at a fixed trickle rate matched to this voltage and chemistry, so swapping chemistry or voltage would break the charge cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform. The BMS accepted charge from the base station cradle without error, and voltage held within the expected window across the full discharge curve.
  • First-install charge requirement: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cordless phone batteries shipped in a partial state of charge need that slow first cycle to reach rated capacity — skipping it means the first few calls drain the pack faster than expected.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they hit rated capacity. A new pack out of the box will underperform compared to a broken-in original. Each full cycle conditions the cell chemistry and raises the usable capacity incrementally. By cycle five, the pack should be delivering close to the rated 700mAh.

Base station showing no charge light after new pack installed

NiMH batteries stored in a warehouse can drop to a voltage level that some base stations treat as a fault condition rather than a depleted pack. The base expects to see a voltage above roughly 3.0V before it begins the charge cycle. If the charge indicator stays off, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and re-seat it firmly — this resets the charge detection circuit. If the light still does not come on, check that the battery contacts in the handset are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless phone has full bars but the handset drops calls near the edge of the house — could the new battery be causing the range drop?

Yes, reduced transmit power is a known side effect when NiMH voltage sags under RF load. The handset radio pulls a surge of current every time it transmits, and a new unconditioned pack shows a steeper voltage dip than a broken-in one. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the sag will reduce as cell capacity builds. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the handset sits flush in the base during charging — a poor cradle contact undercharges the pack.

The handset lost its pairing with the base station after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that resets when power is fully removed. Pulling the old battery and fitting the new one breaks the power supply long enough to wipe the pairing. Re-register the handset through the base station menu — on most Panasonic models, press and hold the locator button on the base for about three seconds until the handset beeps, then follow the on-screen pairing prompt.

The handset battery drains overnight even though the phone is sitting in the base — what is happening?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the cradle, the charging contacts do not complete the circuit and the base never actually charges the pack. The handset draws standby current all night from a battery that never got topped up. Lift the handset out, check that nothing is blocking the contacts on the handset or cradle, and press it back in until it clicks. The charge indicator light should come on within a few seconds.
