Fits AT&T STB-914 cordless phone handsets and restores full wireless communication range.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers adequate talk time on AT&T DECT base stations.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact.
We cycled this cell on an AT&T base station — voltage held steady under transmit load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T STB-914 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for AT&T cordless phone handsets using part number STB-914. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores cordless operation when the original pack no longer holds a charge. Confirm STB-914 on your existing battery label before ordering.

  • STB-914 handset compatibility: AT&T grouped several cordless phone models around the same 3.6V Ni-MH cell format and connector. The STB-914 part number ties them to this specific pack — same voltage rail, same physical footprint, same connector orientation. If your handset originally shipped with STB-914, this battery matches that spec exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone handset platform. The cell voltage came up cleanly from storage, the base station accepted the charge signal without error, and the pack reached rated capacity by the third full cycle — normal Ni-MH behaviour.
  • First charge on Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones are slow-charged by the base — a rushed first charge cuts into how much capacity the pack develops over its early cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. The electrochemical structure needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the pack reaches 700mAh. If talk time feels short after the first day, run the handset down fully and recharge it completely — repeat that two more times. Capacity will increase noticeably with each cycle.

Base station charge light not activating after battery swap

Ni-MH packs drop to low resting voltage during storage — sometimes below the threshold the base uses to detect a valid battery. The base reads this as no battery present and withholds the charge current. Leave the handset seated in the base undisturbed for 30 to 60 minutes. The base will detect the rising cell voltage and switch the charge light on once it crosses approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AT&T handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some AT&T DECT models drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted. The fix is to re-register the handset through the base station menu — on most AT&T models, hold the Find Handset button on the base for several seconds to enter pairing mode, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset. Check your model's manual for the exact key sequence if the handset shows "Searching" or "Unregistered."

The handset battery is draining completely overnight even while it's sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This is not a battery fault — it points to the handset not making a clean electrical connection with the base charging contacts. Check that the handset is fully seated and that the metal contacts on both the handset and the base cradle are clean. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth to remove oxidation or residue. Once contact is restored, the base will trickle-charge the pack and hold it at full voltage through standby.

The range on my cordless phone feels shorter after putting in the new battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it usually corrects itself after a few charge cycles. A Ni-MH pack at low initial capacity sags under the RF transmit load — the handset's radio draws a short burst of current during each transmission, and an undercharged cell can't sustain the voltage. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles to bring the pack to rated capacity. If range is still reduced after five cycles, clean the base contacts and confirm the handset is recharging fully to around 4.2–4.4V open circuit.
