Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DeTeWe 650c / 632d Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DK512009)
This is a 3.7V 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the DeTeWe 650c and related cordless DECT handsets. It fits the 650c, 632d, 622d, and 612d, plus eight additional models that share the same battery footprint and connector. Capacity is rated at 2.96Wh, matching the original specification.
- 650c / 632d series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The handset firmware accepts the DK512009 pack without triggering a fault state, so the charge indicator behaves normally from the first base station cycle.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 650c base station. The BMS reported a clean state-of-charge handshake, the base LED moved from charging to standby as expected, and voltage held stable under RF transmit load.
- First charge on a Li-ion DECT handset: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it there for a full charge cycle before first use. Li-ion cells in low-standby-draw devices like DECT handsets can arrive partially discharged from storage — a full first charge lets the BMS calibrate its capacity estimate correctly.
Talk time shorter than the original after replacing the 650c battery
A new Li-ion cell in a DECT handset often shows shorter talk time for the first two or three cycles. This happens because the BMS has not yet mapped the full charge window of the new cell — it cuts off conservatively until it logs a few complete cycles. Run the handset down to the low-battery warning and then charge it fully two or three times. By the third full cycle, the BMS recalibrates and talk time stabilises at the rated capacity.
DeTeWe 650c handset loses pairing after battery replacement
Some DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that is held by the existing battery charge. When the old cell is fully discharged or the battery is removed for more than a few seconds, that memory clears. The handset then boots without a registered base station. To fix this, hold the handset's paging or find button on the base until the handset enters registration mode, then complete the pairing sequence — on most DeTeWe bases this takes under 30 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions
The base station charge light stays red and never switches to green after I put the new battery in the 650c — what's wrong?
A Li-ion cell shipped from storage can sit below the base station's charge acceptance threshold, typically under 3.0V. The base interprets this as a fault rather than a discharged pack and holds the red indicator. Leave the handset seated in the base for at least two hours without removing it — most DeTeWe base stations will trickle-charge a low cell until it crosses the 3.2V threshold, at which point normal CC/CV charging kicks in and the indicator shifts to green.
The 650c battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?
This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset contacts are not making clean contact with the base cradle, the handset runs on battery rather than base power and the cell depletes overnight. Remove the handset, wipe the gold charging contacts on both the handset base and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and check that the charge LED activates within five seconds of placement.
Range on the 650c dropped noticeably after I swapped the battery — was fine before on the old pack.
DECT transmit power is tied directly to cell voltage. When a new Li-ion cell has not yet been fully charged, terminal voltage sags under the RF transmit burst and the handset steps down its output power to protect the cell. This looks like reduced range but it is not a hardware fault. Charge the handset fully — 4.2V at the cell — and test range again. If range is still shorter after a full charge, check that no metal objects have been placed near the base station since the swap.
