Fits KPN Chicago 330 Micro cordless phones and replaces OEM battery packs worn from daily charging cycles.
3.6V 500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers sufficient voltage for DECT handset RF transmission and talk circuits.
Connector inserts vertically into the battery slot on the handset back panel; locking tab secures during operation.
We bench-tested the pack on a Chicago 330 base simulator — BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH packs require this slow charge cycle to reach rated capacity on initial conditioning.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KPN Chicago 330 Micro — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 500mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the KPN Chicago 330 Micro cordless handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and powers the phone during cordless use away from the base station. When the original pack no longer holds charge through a normal day, this is the direct swap.

  • Chicago 330 Micro fit: The 330 Micro uses a compact 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack. The physical dimensions — 47.36 x 34.20 x 7.49mm — match the cavity exactly, and the cell voltage matches the base station's charge circuit expectations.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on Ni-MH test equipment. The BMS accepted charge normally, voltage held steady across the discharge curve, and capacity tracked close to rated 500mAh by cycle three.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After fitting the new battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need that slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it can lock in a lower capacity ceiling.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and haven't been conditioned. On the first one to three cycles, measured capacity typically runs 15–25% below rated. This isn't a fault — it's the chemistry settling. Each full charge and discharge cycle builds capacity toward the rated 500mAh. By cycle five, most packs are performing at or near spec.

Base station not charging or showing an error light after swap

A new Ni-MH pack stored at low voltage can sit below the threshold the base station expects before it starts a charge cycle. The base reads the pack as faulty and refuses to charge, or shows an error indicator. Remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to fully discharge residual voltage, then reseat it in the base. The charger circuit should recognise the pack and begin the charge cycle normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My KPN Chicago 330 Micro has much less talk time after the new battery — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong. Fresh Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — 500mAh in this case. The first cycle often delivers noticeably less talk time than expected. Run the handset down fully, charge it for 16 hours, and repeat that two more times. Capacity builds with each cycle.

The handset won't re-pair with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset. This is a known behaviour with the 330 Micro series. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station — usually a small button held for three seconds until the base indicator flashes. Check your handset's pairing menu and follow the on-screen registration steps.

The new battery is draining overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — why?

This points to the handset not making proper contact with the base charging pins, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully seated, it draws standby power from the battery without receiving any charge to replace it. Clean the base charging contacts and the handset contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the charge indicator lights up. If the indicator doesn't activate, check for debris under the handset or a bent contact pin.
