Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telekom Compact / T-Sinus 45 Micro Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (NS3109)

This is a 3.6V 500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Telekom cordless handsets. It fits the Compact, T-Sinus 45 Microserie, and T-Sinus 45 Micro models. Physical dimensions are 47.36 x 34.20 x 7.49mm — confirm these match your current cell before ordering.

  • Compact and T-Sinus 45 Micro compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH voltage rail, connector layout, and physical bay dimensions. One cell fits all three models listed above.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a cordless phone handset platform. The NiMH chemistry accepted a slow 16-hour trickle charge without thermal event, and the protection circuit responded correctly to end-of-charge detection from the base station.
  • First charge on Telekom NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged — a slow first charge lets the cell reach its rated 500mAh capacity. Skipping this step will make talk time noticeably shorter from day one.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting a new NiMH cell

NiMH cells can drop to a very low voltage during storage — sometimes below 1.0V per cell. Some Telekom base stations will not begin charging if the pack voltage falls below their acceptance threshold at the charge contacts. The base reads no valid battery and refuses to start the charge cycle. Place the handset in the base, leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes, then check again — most bases will recover the cell once contact voltage climbs above roughly 1.1V per cell.

Talk time still short after three or four days of use

NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — this is normal behaviour, not a fault. On the first few cycles the cell delivers noticeably less capacity than the 500mAh rating. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. By the fifth cycle, capacity typically stabilises at or close to the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Telekom Compact handset loses signal near the edge of the room — could the new battery be causing that?

Yes, it can. NiMH voltage sags under the RF transmit load a DECT handset draws during a call, and a partially conditioned cell sags more than a fully cycled one. This shows up as reduced range or audio breaking up when you move away from the base. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first — once the cell reaches its rated 500mAh capacity, transmit voltage holds more steadily and range recovers.

The handset lost its pairing with the base when I swapped the battery — how do I fix that?

Some DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is completely removed, because the pairing is held in volatile memory backed by the battery. Swapping the cell cuts that supply. Re-register the handset manually: press and hold the registration button on the base station until the indicator flashes, then follow the handset menu to search for and register the base. The exact menu path varies by model, but it is typically found under Settings > Registration.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what is wrong?

This happens when the handset is not making solid contact with the base charging pins. If the handset sits slightly crooked or the contacts are oxidised, the base never delivers a charge current and the cell slowly discharges through the handset's standby draw. Remove the handset, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator lights up within 30 seconds of docking.
