This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original NEC part 690021 in the MH240 cordless handset. It slots into the battery compartment and connects to the same terminals as the factory pack. Voltage and cell dimensions match the MH240 exactly — 55.60 x 36.00 x 5.60mm.

The base station shows a charging error light after I fitted the new battery — what's causing it?
A storage-depleted Li-ion cell can sit below the base station's acceptance threshold voltage. The charger detects an unexpected voltage level and flags it as a fault rather than beginning a normal charge cycle. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, then reseat it firmly in the cradle. If the error persists, check the contact pins on both the handset and base for debris — clean with a dry cloth and reseat again. The error should clear once the charger detects a stable voltage above 3.0V.
The MH240 battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — why?
This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. Check that the handset clicks down into the cradle and that the charge indicator light activates. Also confirm the base station has mains power — a power interruption will stop charging without any visible alert on the handset.
