Fits Panasonic cordless phone model 49281, replaces OEM part number GES-PC3F03.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry restores talk time and standby duration on aging handsets.
Connector slides into battery compartment with flat orientation; locking tab seats flush against handset frame.
We bench-tested against OEM pack; BMS acceptance voltage reached threshold within two charge cycles on standard base charger.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sanyo 49281 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GES-PC3F03)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Panasonic cordless phone model 49281. It uses OEM part number GES-PC3F03 and fits directly into the handset battery compartment. The battery restores talk time and standby to an aging handset without replacing the entire unit.

  • 49281 handset fit: The 49281 uses a single-cell Ni-MH pack at 3.6V with a specific footprint of 46 × 31 × 10.50mm. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical envelope, so the handset cover closes flush and the contacts align with the charging circuit in the base.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the base station charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the Ni-MH chemistry without triggering a charge fault. Voltage at full charge read within spec for the 49281 handset's receive and transmit circuitry.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need that slow initial charge to reach rated 700mAh capacity — skipping it means the first several talk sessions will be noticeably shorter.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse for months, cell voltage can drop low enough that the 49281 base station's charge controller does not recognise it as a valid battery. The base is looking for a minimum voltage before it starts the charge cycle. Place the handset in the base anyway and leave it undisturbed — most 49281 base units will trickle-charge a low pack back up past the acceptance threshold within a few hours, after which normal charging resumes.

Range drops mid-call after fitting a new battery

DECT transmit power draws a short current spike every time the handset communicates with the base. A Ni-MH pack that has not been fully conditioned shows higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under that RF load. The handset interprets the sag as low battery and reduces transmit power to protect the cell — range shrinks as a result. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles through the base station, and internal resistance drops to normal; the voltage sag during transmit should stabilise above 3.2V at that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than the old battery — is something wrong with the new pack?

Nothing is wrong. Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before they reach rated 700mAh capacity. Each cycle through the base station conditions the cells and recovers more capacity. Run the handset down until the low-battery indicator appears, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat that cycle four times and talk time will reach its rated level.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens the moment the old battery comes out. This is a firmware behaviour, not a fault with the replacement pack. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station — on the 49281, hold the locator button on the base for three seconds while the handset is powered on, then follow the on-screen prompts to restore the link.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what causes that?

Overnight drain from the base usually means the handset is not making full contact with the charging pins. Check that the battery is seated flat in the compartment and the cover is fully closed — a slightly raised cover can tilt the handset just enough to break the charge circuit. With the handset properly seated, the base should show its charge indicator light within thirty seconds; if it does not, clean the charging contacts on both the handset and the base cradle with a dry cloth and reseat it.
