Fits SpectraLink PTS360, PTS330, and MDW9030P cordless phone handsets with part numbers 38P327N0.
4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated output on DECT base station chargers without voltage rejection faults.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with locking tab on left side — orientation keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
Bench testing showed steady 4.8V delivery under base charge current with no BMS fault codes on SpectraLink docking stations.
After installation, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cells require a slow initial charge cycle to reach rated 700mAh capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SpectraLink PTS360 / MDW9031 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PTS330)

This is a 4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the SpectraLink PTS360 cordless handset and related MDW9030P and MDW9031 models. It slots into the handset and restores power to the wireless communication unit. Voltage and cell count match the OEM specification (part no. PTS330 / 38P327N0).

  • PTS360, MDW9030P, and MDW9031 compatibility: These handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, 4.8V nominal rail, and NiMH charge termination logic from the base station — one pack covers all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the SpectraLink base station charge circuit. The BMS accepted the NiMH charge profile on first insertion and the cell voltage held within spec across three full discharge-recharge cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing this pack, seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless handsets don't reach rated capacity until they complete a slow initial charge — skipping this step leaves usable capacity on the table from day one.

Range drop on the PTS360 after a battery swap

NiMH packs fresh from storage carry a partial charge — often below 4.0V. At that voltage, the handset's RF transmit circuit can't sustain full power output under load, so range shrinks noticeably. This isn't a faulty battery. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the base station and the transmit voltage stabilises. After conditioning, range returns to what the original pack delivered.

Base station shows no charge or error light after installing the new pack

SpectraLink base stations check the incoming cell voltage before starting the charge cycle. A pack stored below approximately 3.6V can fall outside the acceptance window and trigger an error state. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — the base retries the voltage check on each insertion. If the error persists, connect the handset to a standalone NiMH charger at 0.1C to bring the pack above 4.0V, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

Almost certainly not. NiMH cells ship in a partial-charge state and don't reach rated capacity until they've completed three to five full charge-discharge cycles through the base station. Measure talk time after the fifth cycle before drawing any conclusions. If capacity is still low after conditioning, the issue is likely the base station's charge termination cutting off too early — check that the handset is fully seated and the contacts are clean.

The handset stopped pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is fully removed, because the registration is held in volatile memory. Removing the old battery clears it. Re-register the handset using the base station's pairing button — hold it for three seconds until the base LED flashes, then initiate pairing from the handset menu. The process takes under two minutes and doesn't affect other registered handsets.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is almost always a seating problem, not a battery fault. If the handset sits even slightly off-centre in the cradle, the charge contacts don't close and the handset draws standby current from the pack all night without topping up. Clean the gold contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the base charge LED illuminates. If the LED doesn't light, the contact pins on the base may need gentle straightening.
