Fits cordless phones with AA x 3 battery slot, universal replacement for original packs.
3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry restores full talk time and standby runtime on compatible handsets.
Three AA cells connect in series; friction fit into the handset battery compartment with no connector.
We bench tested voltage stability under transmit load — NiMH held 3.5V without sag during RF cycles.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow initial charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Universel AA x 3 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery for Cordless Phones

This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH battery pack in an AA x 3 configuration. It fits cordless DECT handsets that use a three-cell AA-format pack. Install it when the original battery no longer holds charge through a normal call or standby period.

  • AA x 3 cordless phone compatibility: Many DECT handsets from multiple brands share the same AA x 3 cell arrangement, 3.6V nominal voltage, and two-contact connector. If your original pack matches this physical format and voltage, this replacement slots in without modification to the handset or base cradle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform. The BMS accepted a full charge without triggering a fault state, and terminal voltage held within the expected window across the discharge curve.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base cradle and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge state need a slow, uninterrupted charge to condition the pack and reach rated capacity. Skipping this step shortens effective talk time across all subsequent cycles.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new Ni-MH pack

Some DECT base stations check terminal voltage before initiating a charge cycle. A new Ni-MH pack stored for several months can drop below the base's acceptance threshold — typically around 3.0V for a 3.6V nominal pack. The base reads this as a fault rather than an empty battery and refuses to charge. To recover, confirm the handset contacts are clean and seated correctly, then leave it in the cradle undisturbed. Most base stations will trickle-charge a low pack up to the acceptance threshold within 30–60 minutes before switching to normal charge mode.

Range dropping after a battery swap

Reduced range after a battery replacement is usually a voltage-sag issue, not a pairing or antenna fault. When the Ni-MH pack hasn't been fully conditioned, internal resistance is higher than rated, and voltage sags under the RF transmit load. The handset reduces transmit power to compensate, which cuts effective range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles through normal use and the internal resistance will drop, allowing the pack to sustain voltage under RF load at rated levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless phone's talk time is much shorter than the old battery — is something wrong with the replacement?

Nothing is wrong. Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A pack straight out of packaging delivers noticeably less talk time than it will after conditioning. Run normal use cycles — call, drain, recharge — and talk time will increase with each cycle until it stabilises at the rated 2000mAh level.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed. Replacing the battery breaks that power connection. Re-register the handset manually using the base station's registration button — the exact steps are in your handset's manual, but the process typically takes under two minutes and requires pressing the registration button on the base while the handset is in range.

The handset battery is completely flat by morning even though I left it in the base overnight — what causes that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully engaged in the cradle, the charge contacts don't make a reliable connection, and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, check the cradle contacts for dust or corrosion, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the base charge indicator light activates. The pack should read above 4.2V at the terminals after a full overnight charge.
