Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Konecranes Mini Joystick Radio RMJ — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the factory battery in the Konecranes Mini Joystick Radio RMJ crane remote control. It restores power to wireless crane operation — lifting, lowering, and load positioning from the operator's position on the floor. Dimensions are 68.60 × 37.60 × 11.00mm; verify these against your existing cell before fitting.
- Mini Joystick Radio RMJ platform: The RMJ remote runs a single Li-ion cell to power the RF transmitter board, joystick inputs, and display. The BMS on this cell enforces a low-voltage cutoff around 2.5V — below that threshold, the remote will not power on even when a charged cell is inserted until the BMS re-initialises.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS handshake with the RMJ transmitter board. The cell held rated capacity within expected tolerance and passed overvoltage protection checks at 4.2V.
- Idle-period charging for infrequent crane use: If the remote sits unused for more than four weeks — common on standby cranes — charge the battery once monthly. Li-ion cells left discharged in storage can drop below 2.5V per cell, triggering BMS lockout that a standard charger cannot reverse.
Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery
When an operator triggers a crane solenoid or relay through the RMJ, the brief inrush current spike can exceed what a low-capacity or partially discharged cell can deliver. The BMS interprets this draw as an over-current event and cuts output momentarily, dropping the remote off the RF link. This appears as a mid-operation freeze or reboot. Fitting a fully charged cell at rated capacity keeps the voltage rail stable enough to absorb the inrush without tripping the BMS threshold.
Remote showing low-battery indicator immediately after new cell install
Replacement Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. The RMJ firmware reads this as a low-battery state and flags it on the display. This is not a fault with the cell. Connect the remote to its charger and bring the cell to 4.2V before first use; the indicator will clear once the remote reads full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RMJ crane remote won't turn on at all after sitting in the cabinet for a few months — new battery still does nothing. What's wrong?
The original cell likely discharged below 2.5V during storage, locking out the BMS on the remote's power circuit. Even with a new cell fitted, the remote's board may not initialise until you connect the charger and let it sit for at least 30 minutes — this allows the BMS to re-initialise before the remote will respond to the power button. If the remote still won't power on after a full charge cycle, check that the new cell contacts are seating flush in the battery compartment.
The crane remote cuts out mid-operation every time I activate a lift — it freezes then reboots on its own.
This is a BMS over-current trip caused by the inrush current spike when the hoist solenoid activates. A cell that is partially discharged cannot sustain the output current demanded at that moment, so the BMS shuts down the rail to protect the cell. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V before each shift — a fully charged cell has the headroom to absorb the spike without tripping. If dropouts persist on a fully charged cell, confirm the battery compartment contacts are clean and making solid contact.
The E-stop on my RMJ remote seems slower to respond than it used to — is the battery causing that?
E-stop response on the RMJ is voltage-dependent; the RF transmitter output and processor response time both degrade as cell voltage sags under 3.5V. A battery with capacity fade from repeated shallow cycling will sag faster under the transmitter load, adding latency to the stop signal. Before any safety-critical lift, confirm the cell is at full charge — 4.2V — and replace the battery if it drops below 3.5V within the first few minutes of use.
