Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Phonak Inspiro — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (3PINSBR)

This is a 3.7V, 500mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Phonak Inspiro and Inspiro TX hearing device transmitter. It fits the Inspiro, Phonak Inspiro TX, and Roger Inspiro series. Direct swap for OEM part number 3PINSBR.

  • Inspiro and Roger Inspiro compatibility: The Inspiro TX and Roger Inspiro share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol — that is why one cell covers the full transmitter range. The 3PINSBR connector and PCM pinout are matched to these units exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Inspiro platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and protection circuitry responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and overcharge thresholds.
  • Inspiro TX microphone sensitivity after swap: If the transmitter has sat discharged for an extended period, allow a full first charge cycle before use. A partially recovered cell can cause the TX unit to flag low-power warnings even when the charge indicator reads full.

Why the Inspiro TX drops audio mid-session at moderate battery levels

The Inspiro TX transmits Roger wireless audio at a fixed RF output level. When the cell ages, internal resistance rises — voltage sags under the RF transmission load even if the charge indicator still shows green. The BMS reads the voltage dip as a low-battery event and throttles or cuts output to protect the cell. A fresh 3.7V cell with low internal resistance holds voltage stable under load, which keeps the RF stage running without interruption.

Inspiro showing "battery full" but cutting out after short use

This happens when a deeply discharged Li-Polymer cell recovers enough voltage to fool the charge indicator but has not completed a full charge cycle. The gauge reads surface charge, not true capacity. Plug the Inspiro into the charger and leave it for a complete uninterrupted charge cycle — do not disconnect early. After one full cycle, check that resting voltage sits at or above 4.1V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Inspiro TX keeps cutting out mid-session even though the battery indicator shows it's not empty — what's happening?

An aged cell builds internal resistance over time, so voltage sags under the RF transmission load even when the charge gauge reads mid-level. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-battery condition and cuts output to protect the cell. A new 3PINSBR cell holds voltage flat under load, which stops the BMS from triggering a false cutoff. After fitting the new cell, run one full charge cycle before the first session.

My Inspiro stopped holding charge after it sat unused in a drawer for a few months — will a new battery fix it?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge slowly in storage and can drop below the BMS re-initialisation threshold if left long enough. When that happens, the charger may not recognise the cell at all, or the device powers on briefly then shuts off. Fit the replacement 3PINSBR cell and connect to the charger immediately — do not attempt to power the Inspiro on first. Allow a full uninterrupted charge before use; resting voltage should reach at least 4.1V.

The Inspiro TX microphone sensitivity seems lower after fitting a new battery — is that normal?

It is not a microphone fault. The Inspiro TX requires stable voltage above its operating threshold to maintain full RF output power and audio processing gain. If the new cell was not fully charged before first use, the unit may run at reduced output. Connect to the charger and complete one full charge cycle, then retest sensitivity — the transmitter should return to normal gain once the cell is at full charge.
