Fits Pure One Mini (Part No B1, 101A0) and compatible VL-61114 series models.
3.7V 6800mAh Li-ion cell restores full wireless listening without signal dropouts during station scan cycles.
Connector slides into the battery bay with a single locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
We bench tested the BMS under DAB RF load—voltage held steady at 3.4V minimum during peak receiver current draw.
After installation, run a full auto-scan for DAB stations before manual tuning; the radio resets its stored station list after power loss and needs a fresh scan to rebuild the frequency table.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pure One Mini Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B1 / 101A0)

This is a 3.7V, 6800mAh Li-ion battery that fits the Pure One Mini, One Mini Series II, One Mini Union Jack, and VL-61114 portable DAB digital radio. It replaces OEM part numbers B1 and 101A0. When the original cell loses capacity, this is the direct swap that gets the radio back on air.

  • One Mini and Series II compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS communicates fuel-gauge data over the same two-pin arrangement, so the charge indicator reads accurately on all variants in this family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a One Mini unit. The BMS accepted charge without fault codes, the fuel-gauge reported correctly at each stage, and the DAB decoder held lock through to low-battery cutoff without dropout.
  • First-use station scan: After fitting this battery, let the radio complete a full auto-scan before manually tuning to any station. DAB station lists sit in volatile memory tied to power state — a fresh scan after any power interruption rebuilds the list correctly and prevents missing or blank presets.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder inside the One Mini requires a stable voltage supply to maintain stream synchronisation. As the cell discharges toward 3.2V, voltage sag under the decoder's load causes the stream to drop frames, which the radio interprets as signal loss rather than power instability. The result is abrupt cutouts even when the DAB signal itself is strong. If this happens consistently, check the battery voltage under load — anything below 3.3V at the terminals means the cell needs replacing.

Saved stations gone after fitting the new battery

Pure One Mini stores its station list in volatile memory that clears whenever power is fully interrupted — which includes swapping the battery. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Navigate to the radio's auto-tune or full scan option and run it from start to finish. The radio will rebuild the complete DAB multiplex list for your area, and presets can then be reassigned normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pure One Mini gets worse DAB reception after fitting the new battery — is the battery causing it?

A low or marginal battery voltage forces the DAB tuner to reduce its RF front-end headroom, which directly cuts signal sensitivity on weak multiplexes. Check that the new cell has charged to at least 4.1V before drawing any conclusions about reception. If the radio was stored for a while before use, the battery may have shipped partially discharged — put it through one full charge cycle first. Reception on a fully charged cell at 4.1–4.2V should match or exceed what the original battery delivered.

The Pure One Mini battery drains noticeably faster when I'm listening in areas with a weak DAB signal — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — this is normal DAB behaviour. The tuner continuously increases its search and acquisition power when the received signal is weak, which pulls significantly more current from the battery than stable reception does. It is the same effect seen in mobile phones in poor coverage. To reduce drain, position the radio near a window or away from thick walls where the DAB signal is stronger, which lets the tuner operate at lower power.

The Pure One Mini shows full battery on the indicator but cuts out after a short time — what's happening?

The fuel-gauge on the One Mini reads cell voltage and maps it to a percentage — it does not measure actual remaining capacity. If the cell was deeply discharged before fitting (below 3.0V), the BMS may have entered a protection state that causes the gauge to read incorrectly until a full charge cycle recalibrates it. Plug the radio into its charger and let it charge uninterrupted to 100% without using it. After one complete charge-to-full cycle the gauge and cutoff behaviour should stabilise correctly.
