18V 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers sustained power to the electric lock mechanism without voltage sag during unlock cycles.
Connector type matches the original pack — verify orientation against the door control module terminal pins before inserting into the battery compartment.
We bench tested the pack under repeated lock/unlock cycling; the BMS held steady at 18V through 50 consecutive cycles with no early cutoff.
After swapping this battery, cycle the lock mechanism five times through full open and close operations before returning the door to service — the Besam controller needs a complete power handshake to restore all access methods.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Besam automatische Turoffnung CUD3000 — 18V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (15070)

This is an 18V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Besam automatische Turoffnung CUD3000 automatic door opening system. It powers the electric lock mechanism that controls automated door access in commercial and institutional installations. Also fits the T2 and 15 VRE AAL 700 R variants that share the same voltage rail and connector spec.

  • CUD3000, T2, and 15 VRE AAL 700 R compatibility: These models run the same 18V Ni-MH power architecture with an identical OEM connector and BMS handshake profile — one battery cell pack covers all variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the CUD3000's lock actuation sequence. The BMS held voltage steady through repeated motor-drive cycles and did not trip the low-voltage cutoff under normal actuation load.
  • Post-swap access verification on CUD3000: After fitting this battery, cycle the door system through a full open-and-close sequence before returning the door to service. The CUD3000 controller re-initialises after power interruption and must complete that sequence before all access credentials are accepted.

Why the CUD3000 refuses to actuate immediately after a battery replacement

The CUD3000 controller runs a self-test handshake when power is restored after a swap. Until that sequence completes, the lock motor will not respond to access commands — this is not a fault with the battery. The handshake typically requires one full actuation cycle triggered from the system panel. If the door still does not respond after that cycle, confirm the pack is seated fully and the connector is clicked into place, then trigger actuation again.

Low battery warning active immediately after fitting the new pack

Ni-MH cells shipped in storage state sit at a suppressed resting voltage — typically 1.0–1.1V per cell — which reads as low to the CUD3000's battery monitor. The warning clears once the pack completes one charge cycle through the system's onboard charger. Do not swap the battery out again based on this warning alone. Leave the system connected to mains power and allow a full charge cycle to complete; the alert should clear once cell voltage rises above the controller's 1.2V-per-cell threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

The CUD3000 door won't actuate at all after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

This is almost always the controller's post-power-interruption handshake, not a faulty battery. The CUD3000 locks out motor actuation until its self-test sequence completes after any power loss. Trigger one full open-and-close cycle from the system panel to push it through the handshake. If actuation still fails, remove the pack, reseat it until the connector clicks, and trigger the cycle again.

The system is showing a low battery alert the moment I installed the replacement — did I get a bad pack?

Ni-MH cells arrive from storage at a suppressed voltage, often around 1.0–1.1V per cell, which sits below the CUD3000's low-battery threshold. The alert is triggered by storage voltage, not a defective cell. Leave the system connected to mains so the onboard charger can run a full cycle. The warning clears once per-cell voltage climbs back above approximately 1.2V.

The door actuates but the motor sounds slow and the movement is sluggish — is this a battery issue?

A Ni-MH pack coming out of deep storage can show voltage sag under motor-start load even if the resting voltage looks fine. The lock motor draws a surge current at start-up that a partially recovered pack cannot sustain cleanly. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the system's onboard charger to bring the cells back to full capacity. If sluggishness persists after three cycles, check that the battery connector contacts are clean and making firm contact — resistance at the connector causes the same voltage-sag symptom.
