Fits Besam automatische Turoffnung EMC automatic door operators and replaces OEM part numbers 505186-BB, 654699, 41A017CA00001, and 06000142.
This 24V 300mAh Ni-MH pack supplies the electronic lock mechanism with steady voltage across full discharge cycles.
Connector clips onto the existing battery contact pins; orientation is marked on the housing with red and black labels.
We bench-tested the cell on a Besam EMC platform — the lock energized cleanly at initial insertion with no BMS handshake delays.
After inserting this battery, cycle the lock open and closed three times before relying on wireless access — Ni-MH packs need contact settling before the controller accepts full command input.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Besam automatische Turoffnung EMC Series — 24V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (505186-BB)

This is a 24V 300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Besam automatic door opening systems. It fits the automatische Turoffnung EMC, EMCM, EU-EUD, and related EMC-series operators. The battery backs up the electronic door lock mechanism so the door operator can function during a power interruption.

  • EMC and EMCM series compatibility: These models share the same 24V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 505186-BB also cross-references as OEM part numbers 654699, 41A017CA00001, and 06000142 — all drawing from the same 24V Ni-MH cell stack.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, standby, and simulated power-fail events on an EMC-series operator. The BMS accepted the cell stack without fault codes, held float charge correctly, and released cleanly on simulated mains dropout.
  • Post-swap access method verification: After fitting this battery, cycle power to the door operator completely before closing the door. Some EMC-series units require a full controller reboot to re-establish the BMS handshake — skipping this step can leave the lock unresponsive to access credentials until the reboot completes.

Why the EMC operator shows a fault LED immediately after battery replacement

Ni-MH cells ship in a partial state of charge, typically between 40–60% of rated capacity. The EMC controller measures open-circuit voltage on startup and flags a fault if the reading falls below its internal threshold, even with a brand-new battery installed. This is a controller-side check, not a battery defect. Run a full charge cycle via the operator's onboard charger before placing the door back into service — the fault LED will clear once the pack reaches approximately 26–27V under charge.

Door operator not responding to access credentials after battery swap

Removing the battery cuts power to the controller board, which clears its working state. On EMC-series units, the firmware must complete an initialisation sequence before the access control logic goes live again. If credentials are tested before that sequence finishes, the lock will not respond — this is not a wiring fault or a battery issue. Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, refit it, allow the operator 30 seconds to boot fully, then test access at 24V steady-state on the battery terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions

The door operator shows a low-battery warning straight after I fitted a new 505186-BB — did I get a faulty battery?

Almost certainly not. Ni-MH cells leave the warehouse at 40–60% state of charge, and the EMC controller's threshold check triggers on open-circuit voltage, not physical condition. Connect the operator to mains and let the onboard charger run a full cycle. The warning clears once the pack climbs to approximately 26–27V.

The Besam EMC operator accepts a card swipe but the door doesn't move — motor sounds slow or doesn't engage at all.

A partially discharged Ni-MH pack can hold enough voltage to pass the controller's startup check but sag below the motor-drive threshold the moment the actuator demands current. This is a voltage-sag failure, not a mechanical fault. Charge the 505186-BB fully via the operator before testing door movement — check for at least 24V at the battery terminals under load before closing the door back into service.

After replacing the battery, the Besam operator's control panel is unresponsive — no lights, no reaction to the keypad.

Pulling the battery clears the controller's RAM state. The EMC firmware runs a hardware self-check on every cold boot, and until that completes the panel goes dark and ignores all inputs. Remove the battery, wait a full 10 seconds to let capacitors drain, then refit it and allow 30 seconds before touching the keypad. If the panel is still dark after that, measure voltage at the battery connector — you need 24V present before the controller will initialise.
