Fits Interstate DRY0201 door lock, replaces OEM part number DRY0017.
6V, 2700mAh alkaline battery powers electronic door locks and access control systems.
Two AA-form cells connected in series; snap terminals mate to the DRY0201 battery clip.
We bench-tested this cell on an Interstate platform lock—voltage held steady through simulated keypad cycles with no BMS dropout.
After battery installation, remove and reinsert the pack once to trigger the lock's power-cycle handshake; some DRY0201 units require this reset before Bluetooth pairing restores.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Interstate DRY0201 — 6V Alkaline Replacement Battery (DRY0017)

This is a 6V, 2700mAh alkaline replacement battery for the Interstate DRY0201 electronic door lock. It matches OEM part number DRY0017. When the existing battery depletes, the lock loses power and stops responding to all access methods — this battery restores full operation.

  • DRY0201 lock compatibility: The DRY0201 uses a single 6V alkaline cell to power both the lock motor and the control board. Both draw from the same voltage rail, so the BMS requires a stable 6V source — lower voltage causes the motor to stall before the control board registers a valid access command.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through lock and unlock sequences on the DRY0201 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the motor ran through full throw in both directions without voltage sag events.
  • Post-swap access method check: After fitting the new battery, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth, and keycard — before closing the door. The DRY0201 runs a firmware handshake after any power interruption. If that handshake doesn't complete, the lock accepts physical key only until it finishes.

Why the DRY0201 shows low battery immediately after a fresh swap

The DRY0201 control board reads cell voltage at startup and compares it against a fixed threshold. Alkaline cells that have sat in storage for months can measure 5.6–5.8V at rest — below the 6V threshold the firmware expects. The lock logs this as a low-battery condition before drawing any current. Use cells with a manufacturing date within 12 months and verify polarity before closing the battery compartment.

Bluetooth not reconnecting to the DRY0201 after battery replacement

Removing the battery clears the lock's active Bluetooth session. On the DRY0201, the Bluetooth module does not automatically re-advertise to paired devices after a cold-start power cycle. Open the lock's companion app, navigate to device settings, and force a reconnect or re-pair sequence. Once the app confirms the link, the lock resumes accepting Bluetooth unlock commands — confirm this before the door is closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DRY0201 isn't responding at all after I put the new battery in — the keypad is dead and nothing works.

A power interruption forces the DRY0201 to run a startup sequence before it accepts any input. Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert it firmly and listen for the motor initialisation click. If the keypad stays dark, confirm the cell is seated with correct polarity — the positive terminal must face the marked contact. A clean reinsertion at correct polarity is usually enough to trigger the startup cycle.

The lock app is showing low battery on my phone even though I just fitted a brand-new DRY0017 battery.

The DRY0201 samples cell voltage immediately at startup and flags anything below its threshold as low battery. Alkaline cells that have been in storage for over 12 months can read 5.6–5.8V at rest — enough to trigger the warning before the lock draws any load. Check the manufacturing date on the cell packaging. A fresh cell with a manufacture date within the last 12 months should read at or above 6V and clear the warning on the next startup cycle.

The DRY0201 lock motor sounds slow and laboured — it's grinding through the throw instead of snapping cleanly.

A slow or strained motor on the DRY0201 points to voltage sag under load. The lock motor draws a surge current at the start of each throw — if the cell is near end-of-life or was stored at low temperature, internal resistance rises and voltage drops under that surge. The board detects the sag and reduces motor drive to protect the circuit, which produces the grinding sound. Fit a fresh 6V alkaline cell and operate the lock through two full lock-unlock cycles to confirm the motor returns to a clean, sharp throw.
