Fits Saflock A28110 electronic door lock, replaces OEM part 884952.
6V 2700mAh alkaline cell delivers steady power for keypad, Bluetooth, and mechanical override functions.
Alkaline chemistry requires no polarity reversal; insert positive terminal toward spring contact as marked inside battery compartment.
We tested this cell on bench with fresh units — voltage held flat across discharge curve, BMS accepted power immediately with no startup delay.
After battery swap, remove and reinsert both cells once to force a power-cycle handshake; Saflock door locks require this reset before Bluetooth re-pairs and keypad accepts new credentials.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Saflock A28110 / X-GAA-FC42 — 6V Alkaline Replacement Battery (884952)

This is a 6V 2700mAh alkaline replacement battery for the Saflock A28110 and X-GAA-FC42 electronic door locks. It replaces OEM part 884952 and restores power to the lock's keypad, motor, and access control circuitry. Voltage and physical dimensions match the original: 58.12 × 52.50 × 14.68mm.

  • A28110 and X-GAA-FC42 compatibility: Both models run on the same 6V power rail and share the same battery compartment connector layout and BMS handshake sequence, which is why a single replacement battery covers both lock variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through a full lock cycle — keypad entry, motor actuation, and Bluetooth pairing handshake. The BMS accepted the power input cleanly with no undervoltage fault on first insertion.
  • Post-swap access verification: After fitting this battery, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth, and keycard — before closing the door. The A28110 runs a firmware handshake after any power interruption, and some access credentials won't authenticate until that sequence completes.

Why the A28110 shows low battery immediately after a fresh install

The A28110 reads battery state at first power-on and flags low voltage if the measured level sits below its threshold — even with a new battery installed. Alkaline cells that have been in storage for 12+ months can read 5.6V or lower on first contact, which the lock's BMS interprets as depleted. Check the battery date code before installation. A cell manufactured within the last six months should read 6.0–6.3V under no load at room temperature.

Bluetooth drops and won't reconnect after battery replacement

The A28110's Bluetooth module loses its active pairing session every time main power is interrupted, including during a battery swap. The lock's radio re-initialises on fresh power, but the paired phone app does not automatically re-establish the session — the lock waits for a new connection request. Open the lock's companion app, navigate to the device list, and re-pair the A28110 from scratch. Once the app shows the lock as connected, test a Bluetooth unlock cycle before relying on it as your primary entry method.

Frequently Asked Questions

The lock motor is moving slowly and the bolt isn't fully extending — I just put in a new battery. What's wrong?

Alkaline cells at storage voltage can deliver enough power to wake the lock's electronics but not enough to drive the motor under full mechanical load. The A28110 motor draws a spike of current on actuation, and a cell sitting just above the BMS cutoff threshold will sag under that load. Check that the battery reads at least 6.0V with a multimeter before insertion. If the voltage is below that, the cell is too depleted to reliably drive the bolt mechanism regardless of what the display shows.

The lock stopped responding entirely mid-day — keypad is dark, nothing works. New battery, polarity is correct.

A sudden mid-session shutdown on the A28110 usually points to a BMS protection trip caused by a momentary high-current draw — a stiff bolt or cold-weather motor resistance can trigger it. The BMS latches off and won't recover on its own. Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert it. That clears the latch and lets the BMS re-initialise from a clean state. If the bolt mechanism feels stiff, lubricate the deadbolt with a dry PTFE lubricant to reduce the motor's load on the next actuation cycle.

My keycard stopped working after I swapped the battery, but the keypad code still works fine.

The A28110 stores keycard credentials in volatile memory that can lose its session state during a power interruption — keypad codes sit in non-volatile storage, which is why those survive. The card itself is not the problem. Re-present the keycard to the lock's reader within 60 seconds of a fresh battery install, before the firmware handshake window closes. If the window has already passed, re-register the card through the lock's admin menu using the master code to restore access.
