Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NABC HTL11 — 6V Alkaline Replacement Battery

This is a 6V 2700mAh alkaline replacement battery for electronic door locks using the HTL11 part number. It powers the locking mechanism — motor, keypad, and wireless module — from a single pack. Drop in when the original depletes and access control stops responding.

  • HTL11 platform compatibility: Locks using this part number run a 6V bus to drive the motor actuator and maintain the control board. Any replacement must match that voltage exactly — under-voltage causes slow motor response or no actuation at all.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through repeated lock and unlock actuations. The motor drew consistent current on each cycle with no voltage sag below threshold during the stroke.
  • Post-swap access method check: After fitting new batteries, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth, and keycard — before closing the door. Some locks run a firmware handshake after power interruption. If that sequence doesn't complete, certain access methods stay locked out until it does.

Why electronic door locks lose response after a battery swap

Cutting power to an electronic lock resets the control board. Some locks won't accept commands from the keypad or wireless module until the board completes its startup sequence, which can take 15–30 seconds. If you reinsert batteries and immediately test the lock, it may appear dead when it's still initialising. Give it a full 30 seconds, then test again before assuming a fault.

Low battery warning lights up immediately after fitting new batteries

This usually means polarity is reversed on one or more cells in the pack, or the lock's voltage sensor is reading below its threshold. Check that the positive terminal of the battery pack aligns with the positive marking in the battery compartment. If polarity is correct, the lock's internal voltage divider may be sampling before the alkaline chemistry stabilises — remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, and reinsert. The warning should clear once the board reads a steady 6V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My lock keypad stopped working right after I put in the new HTL11 battery — what's wrong?

Power interruption resets the lock's control board, and the keypad won't respond until the startup sequence finishes. Remove the battery pack, wait 10 seconds, reinsert it, then wait a full 30 seconds before pressing any keys. If the keypad still doesn't respond, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection drops voltage below the board's minimum operating threshold.

The lock's Bluetooth stopped pairing after I replaced the battery — do I need to re-pair the app?

Yes. On most electronic locks, a full power interruption clears the active Bluetooth session, and the module won't auto-reconnect to a previously paired phone. Open the lock's app, delete the existing device entry, then run a fresh pair while standing within one metre of the lock. Some models also require you to hold a pairing button on the lock body to put the Bluetooth module back into discovery mode before the app can find it.

The lock motor sounds slow and the bolt isn't fully throwing — could it be the battery?

Alkaline cells that have been sitting in storage lose surface voltage, and a lock motor pulling peak current on the actuation stroke can sag them below 5.5V mid-cycle. That sag causes a slow or incomplete throw. Use a fresh battery with no extended shelf storage, and confirm the compartment contacts are clean — oxide on the contacts adds resistance and makes the sag worse. Check that the installed voltage reads at or above 6V before closing the door.
