Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ultralast DL-25 / HTLUL10 — 9V Alkaline Replacement Battery

This Ultralast 9V alkaline battery delivers 2700mAh (24.3Wh) to electronic door locks. It fits the DL-25 and HTLUL10 lock models. The flat 103.05 x 58.10 x 15.76mm form factor slots directly into the battery compartment on both units.

  • DL-25 and HTLUL10 platform: Both locks run on a single 9V cell that powers the keypad controller, motor driver, and Bluetooth radio from one voltage rail. Swapping to an undersized or off-spec cell drops the rail and causes inconsistent motor response or radio dropouts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated lock-and-unlock sequences on the DL-25. The BMS on both locks held stable voltage through motor-start draw spikes without tripping a low-voltage cutoff.
  • Post-swap access check: After fitting this battery, test every access method — keypad code, Bluetooth app, and any keycards — before closing the door. Some lock firmware runs a handshake sequence after power interruption; the lock will not accept all credentials until that sequence completes.

Why the DL-25 motor slows or stalls before the low-battery indicator fires

The DL-25 keypad triggers a low-battery alert at a fixed voltage threshold, but the latch motor draws a short high-current spike on every cycle. An aging or low-capacity 9V cell can sustain the keypad and radio at resting voltage while sagging below the motor's minimum during that spike. The result is a slow or stalled bolt — before any warning appears on the keypad. Replacing the cell at the first sign of sluggish motor movement, rather than waiting for the LED alert, prevents a locked-out door.

Lock beeping low-battery signal immediately after a fresh battery is fitted

This usually means the lock read the cell's open-circuit voltage before the battery settled under load, or polarity is reversed in the compartment. Pull the battery out, check the orientation against the compartment markings, and reinsert firmly. If the beeping continues, confirm the cell reads at least 9V on a multimeter before reinsertion. A reading below 8.5V at rest indicates a discharged or faulty cell — replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DL-25 lock is completely unresponsive after I swapped the battery — keypad won't light up at all. What's wrong?

A full power interruption during a battery swap can freeze the lock's microcontroller. Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert it firmly — this forces a cold reboot of the controller. Check that both terminals are making solid contact with the battery clips; a slightly misseated 9V snap connector will read as no power. If the keypad still won't light after reseating, confirm the cell reads 9V on a multimeter before ruling out the lock itself.

My phone app can't find the lock's Bluetooth after fitting a new battery — it was working fine before.

Some DL-25 and HTLUL10 units drop their Bluetooth pairing record when power is fully interrupted during a battery swap. Open the lock's companion app and delete the existing device entry, then re-add the lock from scratch. Keep your phone within 0.5 metres of the lock during re-pairing — the Bluetooth radio runs at reduced power during the handshake phase. Once re-paired, test the app unlock before closing the door.

The lock works on keypad but the motor sounds slow and the bolt moves sluggishly — I just put in a new battery.

The keypad and radio draw very little current, so a weak cell can power those functions while still sagging under the motor's start spike. Check the open-circuit voltage of the installed cell with a multimeter — it should read at or above 9V. If it reads below 8.7V, the cell is either discharged from storage or faulty; swap it for a fresh one. A healthy cell at full voltage will restore normal bolt speed immediately.
