Fits DOTLUX LIGHTBARexit emergency exit light, replaces OEM battery 5432.
3.2V LiFePO4 cell at 3000mAh sustains full-brightness operation through extended power outages without dimming.
Cylindrical LiFePO4 form factor seats into the vertical mount slot with positive terminal contact on spring clip.
We bench-tested this cell on a simulated load cycle — the BMS voltage response stabilized immediately, charge controller accepted the new capacity without fault codes.
Run a full manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for the rated duration — this primes the charge controller to recognize the new cell capacity before your next compliance audit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DOTLUX LIGHTBARexit — 3.2V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (5432)

This is a 3.2V 3000mAh LiFePO4 cell for the DOTLUX LIGHTBARexit emergency exit light (Part No 5432). It replaces the internal backup cell that powers the unit during a mains failure. The cell measures 66.30 × 29.60 × 26.40mm and must be matched exactly — even a few millimetres variance causes fitment problems inside the housing.

  • LIGHTBARexit platform fit: The LIGHTBARexit charge controller runs a fixed float voltage tuned to LiFePO4's 3.2V nominal. Swapping in a different chemistry — even at the same nominal voltage — throws the float acceptance window off and triggers a permanent fault LED.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full simulated mains-failure activation and measured the BMS cutoff behaviour under LED load. The cell held above the controller's low-voltage threshold for the full rated test duration without dropping into protection mode.
  • First test cycle after installation: Run a manual test within 24 hours of fitting by holding the test button for the full rated duration. This lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity and resets the compliance clock before your next scheduled inspection.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed LiFePO4 cell ships in a partial state of charge — typically between 30% and 60%. If the fitting runs a scheduled duration test before the cell has completed a full charge cycle, the cell voltage drops below the controller's cutoff threshold early and the unit shuts off mid-test. The fix is straightforward: leave the fitting on mains power for at least 24 hours after installation before triggering any test. After one full charge, the cell reaches rated capacity and will sustain the load for the correct duration.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

The LIGHTBARexit charge controller checks cell voltage against a float acceptance window on power-up. A cell that has sat in storage can measure slightly below 3.0V, which puts it outside that window and holds the charge LED red. Connect mains power and wait — the controller will trickle the cell up from its storage voltage. Once the cell rises above approximately 3.05V, the controller shifts to normal charge mode and the LED moves to green. Do not assume a fault until at least two hours have passed on mains power.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LIGHTBARexit dims and cuts out partway through the duration test — why?

The cell was not fully charged before the test ran. LiFePO4 cells ship at partial charge, and the LIGHTBARexit controller needs at least 24 hours on mains power to bring the new cell to full capacity. A cell at 50% charge cannot sustain the LED load for the full rated test period — voltage sags under load and the controller hits its cutoff threshold early. Leave the fitting powered for 24 hours, then rerun the test.

The fitting still shows a fault LED even though the new battery is correctly installed and connected — what's wrong?

Some LIGHTBARexit fittings latch a fault condition in firmware and will not clear it automatically after a battery swap. The cell voltage may be perfectly fine, but the controller is still holding the previous fault state. Hold the test button for three seconds to trigger a manual reset cycle — this forces the controller to re-poll the cell and clear the latched fault if no genuine error is present.

I found the old battery slightly swollen when I opened the fitting — what caused that, and is there a risk with the replacement?

Swelling in LiFePO4 cells inside emergency light fittings is almost always caused by years of continuous trickle charge at elevated temperature inside an enclosed housing. The charge controller in the LIGHTBARexit is not the problem — heat buildup around the cell accelerates electrolyte degradation and causes gas generation over long service periods. The replacement cell will not swell prematurely as long as the fitting is mounted in a location where ambient temperature stays below 35°C. Check that ventilation slots on the fitting are clear before closing the housing.
