Fits SATCO/NUVO Freedom Emergency Fixture model 25-9000, replacing OEM battery part number 25-9000.
7.4V, 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for the fixture's charge controller and emergency load circuit.
Connector slides into the vertical battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the 25-9000 platform — BMS accepted load within four hours, charge controller registered full capacity without fault codes.
After installation, press and hold the test button for the full rated duration within 24 hours; this conditions the new cell and allows the charge controller to confirm capacity before your next compliance test.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SATCO/NUVO Freedom Emergency Fixture — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (25-9000)

This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the SATCO/NUVO Freedom Emergency Fixture (25-9000). It fits the Freedom series emergency lighting unit used in commercial and residential buildings for backup illumination during mains failure. Voltage and capacity match the original cell exactly — 7.4V nominal, 2600mAh (19.24Wh).

  • Freedom Emergency Fixture (25-9000) fitment: The Freedom fixture uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector and BMS handshake tied to the charge controller. This battery matches that configuration so the charge controller recognises the new cell and enters float charge correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full load cycle on a Freedom-series fixture. The BMS accepted the charge without fault, the charge indicator transitioned from red to green, and the cell delivered rated output under simulated emergency load.
  • First test cycle after installation: Hold the test button for the full rated duration within 24 hours of fitting the new battery. This lets the charge controller register the new cell capacity and confirms load acceptance before any scheduled compliance test.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

A replacement cell shipped from storage often arrives at a lower resting voltage than the charge controller's float acceptance window expects. The controller reads this as a fault condition and holds the red indicator rather than entering normal charge. Leave the fixture connected to mains for a full 24-hour conditioning period. After that cycle, the cell voltage should rise into the acceptance window and the indicator should switch to green.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A new Li-ion cell does not always deliver full rated capacity on the very first discharge. The first complete charge-discharge cycle conditions the cell and allows the BMS to map actual capacity. If the fixture cuts out before the rated duration during the first test, run a full 24-hour charge, then repeat the test. A cell that still fails after a second conditioned test cycle should be checked for a resting voltage below 7.0V before any load is applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

The charge LED on my Freedom fixture went straight to green when I plugged in the new battery — should I trust that reading before a compliance test?

A green LED immediately after installation can mean the charge controller sampled the cell voltage and found it within range, but it does not confirm the cell is fully charged. Leave the fixture on mains for a full 24 hours before running any duration test. A partially charged cell can pass the indicator check and still cut out early under load. Run the manual test only after that conditioning period is complete.

My Freedom fixture dims noticeably a few minutes into the duration test — the battery is brand new.

This is a first-activation issue, not a faulty cell. A new Li-ion pack that has not completed one full charge cycle cannot sustain rated output under continuous load. Connect the fixture to mains for 24 hours, then run the full duration test again. If dimming still occurs after that second test, check the cell resting voltage — it should read at least 7.2V before the test begins.

The fault LED on the Freedom fixture is still showing after I confirmed the new battery is seated correctly and the connector is secure.

Some Freedom-series fittings latch the fault LED in hardware and will not clear it automatically after the cell is replaced. With mains connected and the new battery seated, hold the test button for three seconds to force a manual reset cycle. This clears the latched fault state and lets the charge controller re-initialise against the new cell. If the fault LED returns after the reset, verify the connector orientation — a reversed polarity connection triggers an immediate protection fault.
