Fits Streamer YH11B-05WL emergency exit lights and replaces OEM battery YHBAL2-1.6 directly.
6.4V 1500mAh LiFePO4 cell delivers full capacity for the duration test cycle required by safety codes on this fixture.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is marked on the housing.
We bench-tested this LiFePO4 pack on Streamer's charge controller — BMS accepted the cell voltage within 2 hours and held float stable.
Run a full manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for the rated duration — this confirms the new cell accepts load and allows the charge controller to register capacity before the next compliance test.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Streamer YH11B-05WL Series — 6.4V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (YHBAL2-1.6)

This is a 6.4V 1500mAh LiFePO4 replacement battery for the Streamer YH11B-05WL emergency lighting fixture. It fits the YH11B-05WL, YH11B-05WL-55, and YH11B-05WL-55 5W variants. The OEM part reference is YHBAL2-1.6.

  • YH11B-05WL series compatibility: All three variants in this fitting family share the same 6.4V LiFePO4 voltage rail, connector footprint, and charge controller float threshold — this battery seats and communicates correctly across the entire series without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a simulated mains-fail event and confirmed the BMS released load current cleanly. The charge controller accepted the cell and transitioned from bulk charge to float without faulting.
  • Post-installation test cycle: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity and confirms the cell accepts load before your next scheduled compliance inspection.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

LiFePO4 cells lose voltage during storage. If the resting cell voltage sits below the fitting's float acceptance window when first installed, the charge controller holds a fault state rather than entering normal charge mode. This is not a defective cell — it is a low starting voltage rejection by the controller. Leave the fitting powered on mains for 12 to 24 hours; the controller will slowly pull the cell voltage up until it crosses the acceptance threshold, typically around 6.0V to 6.2V, and the indicator will shift to green.

Emergency light fails its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed LiFePO4 cell has not yet completed a full conditioning cycle, so available capacity on the first test is lower than rated. This causes the fitting to cut out before the required duration elapses — triggering a compliance failure that is not a sign of a faulty battery. Run one complete manual test cycle immediately after installation and then allow a full 24-hour recharge before any recorded compliance test. After that first cycle, the cell delivers its rated 1500mAh and the fitting should hold illumination for the full required period.

Frequently Asked Questions

The fitting still shows a fault LED after I've installed the new battery and confirmed it's seated correctly — what's causing that?

Some Streamer YH11B-series fittings latch the fault LED in hardware and do not clear it automatically when a new cell is installed. The fault flag stays set until a manual reset is performed — usually a sustained press of the test button for five or more seconds with mains power live. If the LED clears after that reset and the fitting charges normally, the installation is good. If the fault LED returns within an hour, check that the cell resting voltage is above 6.0V before re-seating it.

The light comes on during a test but dims noticeably after a couple of minutes — is the cell faulty?

This is a first-activation behaviour, not a cell fault. The cell ships with a partial state of charge, and the available energy on the very first test discharge is lower than the rated 1500mAh. Allow the fitting to charge on mains for a full 24 hours after installation before running any recorded test. After that conditioning charge, the cell should sustain full brightness for the entire required test duration without the dimming drop-off you saw on the first activation.

The old battery swelled and damaged the battery compartment — what caused that, and will it happen again with a replacement LiFePO4 cell?

Swelling in emergency light batteries almost always results from years of continuous trickle charge at elevated temperature inside a sealed fitting — the cell never fully discharges and the charge controller slowly overcharges it over time. LiFePO4 chemistry is significantly more tolerant of overcharge and high-temperature float than the NiCd and NiMH cells it replaces, so the risk of swelling is materially lower. To further reduce the risk, ensure the fitting is mounted away from heat sources and that the ventilation slots on the housing are not blocked. If your existing charge controller shows any sign of fault or runs abnormally hot, have it inspected before fitting the replacement cell.
